If you want audiences to know immediately that a character is to be respected, can handle just about anything, will put up with no b.s. and is absolutely cool without having to explain all of the above, your best bet is to just cast Samuel L. Jackson. In person, Australian actor Chris Hemsworth looks almost as imposing as he does onscreen as his Agardian superhero Thor. Of all the actors in THE AVENGERS, Robert Downey, Jr. has the most experience with his character Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. Downey previously played the billionaire genius inventor smartass in IRON MAN and IRON MAN 2, plus an uncredited cameo at the end of THE HULK. However, this is his first time sharing the screen with Chris Evans’ Captain America, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye and even Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk (Edward Norton had the role when Tony Stark last visited him). News: Will THE AVENGERS shoot one more scene before its release on May 4? Robert Downey Jr. says so

There may or may not be one more scene added to THE AVENGERS before its release. At a press conference on Thursday, AVENGERS star Robert Downey, Jr. announced, “We are shooting one more scene tonight. Not kidding.” At a second press conference immediately following this, AVENGERS writer/director Joss Whedon was asked about this. His response: “It’s Robert. Of course he’s kidding.” Who’s the real kidder here? Tell us what you think!
