In CBS’s Sunday night freshman dramedy GOD FRIENDED ME, atheist Miles Finer (Brandon Micheal Hall) is friended on social media by someone claiming to be the Almighty. The new friend makes suggestions to the skeptical Miles on who else to befriend and how to help people. Miles’s loving sister Ali is played by Javicia Leslie. Ali is a psychotherapist and a lesbian. The latter is challenging to the siblings’ father, Pastor Arthur Finer (Joe Morton), who likewise has trouble dealing with Miles’s beliefs. Leslie was born in Germany and raised in Maryland. The original MAGNUM P.I., about a private investigator (played by Tom Selleck) in Hawaii, ran for eight seasons on CBS, 1980 through 1988. CBS has had a lot of success rebooting two other successful older series, HAWAII FIVE-0 and MacGYVER, both co-developed and executive produced by Peter M. Lenkov. RIZZOLI & ISLES, the TNT series starring Angie Harmon as Boston Police homicide detective Jane Rizzoli and Sasha Alexander as her best friend, forensic pathologist Maura Isles, is now airing its third season Tuesday nights at 9 PM.
