Stars: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Michelle Gomez Writer: Steven Moffat Director: Hettie Macdonald Original Telecast: September 19th & 26th, 2014 Network: BBC America The first season of DOCTOR WHO where a new regeneration of The Doctor is introduced is always a bit of a dicey phase. The Doctor is never really who is he is going to be with his new face, and you kind of have to get around all of the more unstable parts of his personality post regeneration. Having said that I did enjoy Peter Capaldi’s first season as the new 12th Doctor. The writing wasn’t completely […]Read On »

Stars: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman Writer: Steven Moffat  Director: Rachel Talalay  Original Telecast: November 8, 2014 Network: BBC America Once again I find myself faced with writing a review of DOCTOR WHO and having to drop all kinds of spoilers to do an effective job. I usually shy away from spoilers, but I just have so many questions buzzing around in my head after “Death in Heaven” that I have to bring up things that we game changing, or even just confusing in this season’s finale. Again, let’s just start with Danny Pink (Sam Anderson) is dead. Still dead that […]Read On »

Stars: Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman Writer: Steven Moffat Director: Rachel Talay Original Telecast: November 1, 2014 Network: BBC America Ordinarily with my DOCTOR WHO reviews I try to avoid spoilers, but with everything that happens in “Dark Water” I really feel the need to actively discuss the major plot points that are big game changers for everyone’s favorite Timelord. Let’s just start with Danny Pink (Sam Anderson) is dead. That’s where the episode begins and I know it’s supposed to be a huge emotional moment, but Danny just hasn’t had enough going for him to make me care that he […]Read On »

After the DOCTOR WHO series made a brief tour of the U.S. in Series 6  by actually shooting in the states for the first time, showrunner Steven Moffat wouldn’t rule out the idea of revisiting America again for the show – but only if it’s right. “It’s entirely about story,” says Moffat while at today’s Summer 2011 TCA tour in Beverly Hills. “I don’t think in order to make DOCTOR WHO [appeal to]  Americans you have to do stories set in America. Americans are not going to wish there were more series set in America. It’s story driven. [America] is […]Read On »

At today’s 2011 TCA press tour in Beverly Hills, Matt Smith was asked who his favorite DOCTOR WHO was, and the answer is … second Doctor Patrick Troughton. “What’s wonderful about him is he’s weird and peculiar, but he’s not asking you to think he’s weird or peculiar,” says Smith. The actor also spoke about how being a younger Doctor actually helped give a new dimension to the character. “It worked in my favor,” says Smith. “There’s something funny about a young face and an old soul. It allows you to reinvent being old. So that was interesting. When I […]Read On »

He’s dead already.” DOCTOR WHO resumes Series 6 on August 27, 2011 on BBC and BBC America.   Click on Link: For More […]Read On »
