To the delight of its devoted fans, COMMUNITY has resumed its third season on Thursday nights at 8 PM. Chevy Chase co-stars as Pierce Hawthorne, who made a fortune in the moist towelette business but joins the central study group as a way to make friends, even though he’s not very […]Read On »

Interview: COMMUNITY star Gillian Jacobs talks Season 4 hope, Season 3 dope and alternate timelines

One of the strangest and comedically satisfying series on network television is NBC’s COMMUNITY.  Set at the fictional Greendale Community College, the series focuses on a study group of misfits who find themselves in very strange situations every episode. It’s a show aware of its weirdness and strangeness, but there’s also a sweet core to it as well. Gillian Jacobs plays Britta Perry, the high-strung know-it-all and supposed independent thinker who is a much more brittle than she realizes. In fact, last week, it was revealed that she’s a secret homemaker – and comes from a “long line of wives […]Read On »

While speaking today at Wondercon 2012, COMMUNITY creator and executive producer Dan Harmon revealed that he’s confident the series will be back for Season 4. “We’ll at least get half of a fourth season especially now with the Comedy Central deal,” says Harmon. “I’m not a businessman, but from what I understand, when you have a third season of a sitcom and it’s generating a certain amount of revenue per episode, it’s practical to bring it make and make it syndicatable. A fourth season pick-up for 13 would bring us to the 88 episodes. However, if we lay a fart […]Read On »

When COMMUNITY was missing from NBC’s midseason schedule, many thought that this was the first nail in the coffin before cancellation. However, at today’s NBC TCA press tour session, NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt wanted to clarify that COMMUNITY will be back once a time slot opens up. “COMMUNITY was moved to 8 a couple of years ago and that’s an incredibly competitive time slot on Thursdays,” says Greenblatt. “I’m curious what something else will do there. I don’t know if it makes sense to ask COMMUNITY to start off night again. We have a tight schedule with comedies and […]Read On »

Stars: Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown, Alison Brie, Donald Glover, Ken Jeong, Chevy Chase, Jim Rash Director: Anthony Russo Network: NBC, airs Thursday nights Original Telecast: September 22, 2011 COMMUNITY is usually so good, but when it makes a mis-step or two, it’s quite noticeable Granted, a mediocre or flawed episode of COMMUNITY is still more entertaining than most sitcoms, but still, the Season Three premiere “Biology 101” left me a little bit cold. It starts off with a pretty funny musical number about the show not being as weird as it was the first two […]Read On »

It’s taken some time, but the title of SPIDER-MAN 4 aka the SPIDER-MAN reboot movie is finally here and it is … THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. That’s not surprising, considering the title is also shared with one of the longest running SPIDER-MAN comic book series. Also released is a photo of Garfield in full costume  – hopefully to quell fears that the behind-the-scenes footage of the Spidey-costume will look better when properly lit (it does). THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN opens July 3, 2012 and stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field. […]Read On »

While everyone else was talking TV at NBC’s Winter TCA press tour in Pasadena, CA, geekdom was weighing in on the first photo released from the new untitled SPIDER-MAN 4 movie starring Andrew Garfield. Naturally, the cast of the geek-centric NBC comedy COMMUNITY chimed in on the photo during the session. Donald Glover who plays Troy Barnes on the show admits he saw the photo. “The coolest part about it is he has a backpack,” says Glover. “I think that’s what makes the picture. It reminds you of how young [Peter Parker] is. That’s the part of Spider-man I always […]Read On »
