During today’s TCAs for Fox’s Studio Day, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER actress Alyson Hannigan commented on the recent news that BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER was going to be made into a feature film sans Joss Whedon. Needless to say, she isn’t too happy about it. In response to the question about would she like to crap on the movie, she responds: “A BUFFY [THE VAMPIRE SLAYER] movie without Joss, I would crap on that,” Hannigan told the press. “Joss was Buffy.” I guess that puts the kibosh on any guest appearance from Willow. Tim Minear served as consulting producer on Season One of DOLLHOUSE and executive producer, with creator Joss Whedon, on Season Two of the short-lived Fox series. DOLLHOUSE, which starred Eliza Dushku as the eventually self-aware Echo, concerned a secret business wherein human “dolls” had their original personalities wiped, to be replaced by whatever sort of persona (spy, lover, mother) high-paying clients wanted for short-term engagements. Minear wrote and directed the episodes “Getting Closer” and “Omega,” and scripted “Belle Chose” and “True Believer.” In Part Two of our exclusive interview, he talks about what might have happened had DOLLHOUSE had a […]Read On »

Amber Benson creatively does everything – and very successfully, too. Benson originally came to the public’s attention as an actress (Tara on BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, an award-winning turn in RACE YOU TO THE BOTTOM), but she’s branched out as a filmmaker (writer/director/producer of CHANCE and LOVERS, LIARS AND LUNATICS), a novelist (DEATH’S DAUGHTER as a solo writer, THE GHOSTS OF ALBION books in collaboration with Christopher Golden), a radio play writer and a comic book author. Right now, as a film director, Benson has DRONES, which she co-directed with Adam Busch, awaiting release. As an author, she’s got two […]Read On »

We were all horrified yesterday when Warner Bros. announced they were going to do a big-screen reboot of BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER. Being major fans of the Joss Whedon-created TV series, and with him having no involvement in the project, it’s clear there’s more nightmare announcements ahead that will send us fans screaming under the bed until this horrible nightmare is over. Did we mention the script is being written by newbie screenwriter Whit Anderson – she used to be an actress! However, there are a few things to be grateful for. First of all, considering Warner Bros. is involved […]Read On »
