After the 39th Annual Saturn Awards arrivals while the stars and guests went into the ballroom for dinner and the award show the press headed back to the pressroom to wait for the winners and the presenters to come on back to pose with their Saturn Award. The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films recently held the 39th Annual Saturn Awards at The Castaway Starlight Ballroom in Burbank. It was a beautiful day and night high in the hills of Burbank. This award show is not televised, and honors a genre that the main award shows generally overlook. The host for the awards was Lance Reddick (FRINGE) and the awards were dedicated to Ray Harryhausen, who passed away May 7, 2013.  Richard Matheson who was to receive The Visionary Award this night, also passed away June 23, 2013. Sure there’s THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW, but Barry Bostwick’s most outrageous exercise in retro-camp might just be 1982’s MEGAFORCE, a proto-G.I. JOE exercise in souped-up spandex do-gooding, blessed with extra oh-so ’80’s musical oomph by composer Jerrold Immel. Immel had the macho sound of TV scoring down with the likes of HARRY O and POLICE WOMAN when America’s first line of motorized defense came knocking at his studio in the tight-fitted form of Bostwick as “Ace” Hunter.
