Breaking News: Marvel Studios President says he’s not worried about too many Marvel movies

While speaking at Comic-Con 2012, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke about Marvel’s very busy movie slate. While there is a worry of overkill and over-saturating the market with too many Marvel movies , Feige says he doesn’t feel like that tipping point has happened yet and as long as they continue making great movies, they’ll be fine. “I have been at Marvel for 12 years and we had that concern going when X-MEN came out and SPIDER-MAN came out in one year,” says Feige. “The trick and formula is to try and make different movies and make them great. Breaking News: First look at Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY logo and conceptual art

With the next THE AVENGERS movie awhile off, Marvel Studios is dusting off another superhero team movie for one of their next films. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY features the characters Drax the Destroyer, Groot, Star Lord, Rocket Raccoon and Phyla Vell who routinely battle Thanos (who made an appearance at the end of THE AVENGERS). At Comic-Con, Marvel not only announced a release date, but also provided a logo and the first bit of conceptual art. Sounds very, very different and potentially very, very cool. Marvel was real busy at Comic-Con, announcing release dates for their whole slate of films (which they’re calling Phase 2) and more importantly releasing the official logos and subtitles for many of those films. The sequel to CAPTAIN AMERICA is no longer CAPTAIN AMERICA 2, but rather CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER will bring back Chris Evans as hero Steve Rogers.
