In Part 2 of this exclusive four-part interview with Mike Costa, co-executive producer/writer on LUCIFER, which is currently streaming on Netflix, he talks about LUCIFER’s identity as a series, the meta “Diablo” episode, and more.  AX: For a number of years, LUCIFER and SUPERNATURAL as shows were making jokes about each other in the episodes – the Lucifer character on SUPERNATURAL, played by Mark Pellegrino, said at one point, “What am I gonna do, go to L.A. and open a nightclub?” SUPERNATURAL for the last two seasons had God as a character, played by Rob Benedict, although their God was […]Read On »

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Jim Beaver Writer: Andrew Dabb, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Robert Singer Network: The CW, Thursday @ 8 PM Original Airdate: November 19, 2020 SUPERNATURAL does several smart things with its series finale. The first and most important is to end in a way that doesn’t make longtime fans want to kill themselves or other people. That aside, SUPERNATURAL spreads its denouement over two hours, the documentary “The Long Road Home,” and the actual last episode, “Carry On.” Reversing what might be the expected order, the say-goodbye doc, “The Long Road Home,” runs first. After fifteen seasons and 327 one-hour episodes, SUPERNATURAL has its series finale on The CW on Thursday, November 17, 2020. The series began on The WB, and is now the longest-lasting survivor of that now-gone network. The CW Network president Mark Pedowitz counts himself as a SUPERNATURAL admirer. At a Q&A panel (pre-COVID) held by The CW for the Television Critics Association (TCA) press tour, there’s a final SUPERNATURAL panel. The speakers include leads Jared Padalecki (Sam Winchester), Jensen Ackles (Dean Winchester), Misha Collins (the angel Castiel) and Alexander Calvert (the half-angel Jack), executive producer/director Robert Singer, and executive producers/writers […]Read On »

Showalter Network: The CW, Thursdays @ 8 PM Original Airdate: November 12, 2020 To be clear, the episode “Inherit the Earth” is not the series finale of SUPERNATURAL. That comes November 19. However, the penultimate installment feels very much like a season finale. “Inherit the Earth” pays off the vast majority of plot developments that have been brewing ever since God/Chuck (Rob Benedict) returned to Earth at the end of Season […]Read On »

In “Despair,” there’s a lot of the title sentiment, but there’s also true happiness and love. Jack (Alexander Calvert) is having a lot of physical problems, as he’s turned himself into a living bomb. Sometimes, they actually do go off the rails. Because this happens, it’s especially easy for them to do some expert misdirection, and with “Unity,” they show how they’ve done it. You know how Team Winchester has spent the season trying to fight Chuck, aka God (Rob Benedict)? That one’s easy. Remember […]Read On »

This kinda/sorta informs the present, though not as much as it should, giving the timing. The bigger news here is that Dean (Jensen Ackles) is really doubling down […]Read On »
