Vik Sahay is having quite a year. Shortly after his five-season run on CHUCK as Buy More employee/part-time rocker Lester Patel came to a close, Sahay was on the big screen as the mean boss of Seann William Scott’s Stifler in AMERICAN REUNION, which is now out on home video. Sahay also had a lead role in the upcoming feature comedy MY AWKWARD SEXUAL ADVENTURE and got on a plane to Romania to film a lead role in the horror film WER, although at press time, the actor isn’t allowed to reveal much about either the latter project’s plot or […]Read On »

Bryan Cranston and Anna White in BREAKING BAD - Season 5 - "Fifty-One" | ©2012 AMC/Ursula Coyote

Stars:  Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn Writer: Sam Catlin Director: Rian Johnson Network: AMC, airs Sunday Nights Original Telecast: August 6, 2012 “Fifty-One” is perhaps the most harrowing episode of BREAKING BAD this season, as it deals primarily with the toll Walter White’s (Bryan Cranston’s) year-long transformation has taken on his wife, Skyler (Anna Gunn).  Since Walt’s become a power-hungry madman, we were aware that this toll was heavy, but this episode features several gasp-worthy moments that is notable not only for the depiction of Walt’s depravity, but for its abject sadness. Some of those difficult domestic moments include: […]Read On »

TV Review: GO ON – Season 1 – “Pilot”

Matthew Perry in GO ON - Season 1 - "Pilot" | ©2012 NBC/Jordin Althaus

Stars: Matthew Perry, Laura Benanti, Julie White, John Cho Writer: Scott Silveri, series created by Scott Silveri Director: Todd Holland Network: NBC, Tuesdays Original Airdate: August 8, 2012 As Los Angeles Times reviewer Mary McNamara just observed, television has done very well with both psychotherapy (FRASIER, THE BOB NEWHART SHOW) and Matthew Perry (FRIENDS) in the half-hour comedy genre. Putting the two together seems like a good idea. The first twist in GO ON is that Perry’s character, snarky and closed-off radio sportscaster Ryan, is a patient rather than the therapist, which works very well. When we meet Ryan, his […]Read On »

Stars: Tyler Posey, Crystal Reed, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, Linden Ashby, JR Bourne Writer: Jeff Davis Director  Tim Andrew Network: MTV, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: August 7, 2012 After a full season of one major event after another in a great, long story arc (and little room to breathe), “Battlefield” finally allows TEEN WOLF to put some space between the major Kanima storyline and last week’s death of Matt (Stephen Lunsford) who went pretty crazy after he bonded with the Kanima. He wanted revenge, and the Kanima offered that. It wasn’t intentional, but it happened. […]Read On »

At the Showtime TCA 2012 Press Tour, Showtime President David Nevins hinted he wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to continue DEXTER after what is intended to be its final two seasons. “What I’ve said before is likely two years, but I’m not making any announcements today, and I think plans can always change,” says Nevins. “I think everything has gotten rewired this year in a very interesting way. Given that Deb [Jennifer Carpenter] has to deal with who her brother is, everything changes. So we’ll see where that carries it.” Later, during the Showtime session for DEXTER, series star Michael […]Read On »
