The PaleyFest 2012 (The William S. Paley Television Festival) on March 8th presented BONES to the many fans of this hit FOX show at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills. CBS Films held the U.S. Premiere of SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN on Monday 5th, at the Directors Guild of American. SALMON FISHING IN THE YEMEN is the story about a visionary sheik (Amr Waked) that has a dream to bring salmon fishing to the desert. Instructing his representative Harriet (Emily Blunt) to make his dream come true. Ewan McGregor portrays Dr. Alfred Jones, a leading Fisheries expert. Unfortunately, he happens to think the project is absurd and unachievable. After major delays to the long-awaited reboot of THE LONE RANGER franchise, Walt Disney Pictures just released this cool new image from the Gore Verbinski directed film. Armie Hammer (THE SOCIAL NETWORK) plays John Reid, the masked man, while Johnny Depp is his sidekick Tonto. Should be interesting to see how this turns out. Tim Burton’s latest stop motion film follow A NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS and THE CORPSE BRIDE is actually a blast from the past. FRANKENWEENIE is a black and white stop-motion film based on the live action Disney short he did in 1984 before he hit it big with PEE-WEE’S BIG ADVENTURE and BEETLEJUICE. The first FRANKENWEENIE trailer has finally made its debut, and you can check it out below. The film arrives October 5 and features the voices of Winona Ryder, Martin Short and Catherine O’Hara. Richard Carpenter, creator of the British series’ CATWEAZLE, THE GHOSTS OF MOTLEY HALL, DICK TURPIN, SMUGGLER, ADVENTURER and the iconic ROBIN OF SHERWOOD, died yesterday, Feb. 26, at his home in Hertfordshire, England. He was 82 years old. Cause of death was given as blood clot. Anthony Horowitz, creator/writer of the FOYLE’S WAR television series and author of the best-selling Alex Ryder action thriller novels, last year told the British daily THE GUARDIAN that Carpenter had given him his start as a screenwriter in the third season of ROBIN OF SHERWOOD.
