In the second part of the FUTURAMA season 6B premiere, “Benderama” gets back to business in simply being funny (and way, way out there).

When the Professor builds a contraption that can take one item and produce two similar, smaller items, it suddenly falls into Bender’s hands and a whole sub-race of lazy Bender’s slowly start to take over the world when they multiply on top of multiplying.

Eventually they become the Bender equivalent of nano-bytes and end up drinking all of the alcohol on the planet – and then they find a way to change the molecules of water to transform it into alcohol as well.

Meanwhile, Unattractive Giant Monster (Patton Oswalt) is offended by the Planet Express crew when they deliver him personal hygiene products. He’s sensitive about his looks and he goes after them as they’re taking off. As Bender begins taking over the earth, UGM decides to visit earth and apologize for his outburst, but with everyone drunk, he’s ridiculed even more and he begins to storm through the city (ala Godzilla) with a big battle against a super-Bender being part of the grand finale.

This is FUTURAMA done right, as the concept starts off in a rather mundane way and then progressively gets weirder and weirder as it goes along. This is really funny stuff with all the characters getting some prime time to be themselves in hilarious ways.

It’s Bender’s show though this time out, and it’s great to see what would happen if even more of this lazy, loud-mouth and abusive robot were born into existence.

Great stuff (I loved the TWILIGHT ZONE parody THE SCARY DOOR) and a great one-two kick-off to the new Season of FUTURAMA.
