The shape of the new EBERT PRESENTS AT THE MOVIES just added the final piece of its puzzle with the announcement of its second film critic today.
Ignatiy Vishnevetsky (from Mubi.com and a contributor to THE CHICAGO READER) will partner up with the ASSOCIATED PRESS critic Christy Lemire to co-host the new program which will debut on January 21st on public television stations across the U.S.
Roger Ebert serves as co-producer on the show and will also be part of a special segment each week.
The famous “Thumbs Up” system Ebert made famous with Gene Siskel when they top-lined their review show for decades, will also make its return.
The Russian born Vishnevetsky made an impression on Ebert while chatting with him at the Lake Street Screening Room in Chicago.
“I was struck by the depth and detail of his film knowledge, and by how articulate he was,” Ebert said in a press release today.
