It was no surprise when it was announced that front runner Team Iluminate was bound for the finals tonight on AMERICA’S GOT TALENT. The rest of the choices were a bit trickier, although, yours truly managed to pick nearly every one of them – so sorry to see Daniel Joseph Baker leave. Still, those that left the stage weren’t without talent and merit.
Zuma Zuma and their amazingly bendable performance deserve to have a place to bend somewhere. However, I’m not sure Sandou Trio Russian Bar still has that option after an incredibly disappointing performance last night. Bicyclist stunt performer Matt Wilhelm made an only slight mistake in his act when he fell but America was not forgiving of his slip up, at least not when it comes to the semi finals anyway.
After having to watch the AGT weekly “That’s What’s Poppin’ ” Orville Redenbacher promo with the talent it was onto a performance by Demi Lovato. Man, she has grown up fast. Boy, do I feel old! Why she was sitting on a pile of junk at the beginning of her song is beyond me. But I digress…back to the important stuff. PopLyfe and Lys Agnes were second and third to be picked by America, deservingly so. Left out in the cold were Melissa Villasenor and Kevin Colis. In the fourth spot was the very enthusiastic group Miami All Stars.
Prince Poppycock returned for a – as always – unique display and then New Boyz did a ditty with a modern day Backstreet Boys accompanying them as back up singers.
Out sixth was Beth Ann Robinson and then, shockingly, seventh was Daniel Joseph Baker who was given the heave ho by the judges to make room for the West Springfield Dance Team. That is the five first finalists. Next week, twelve more will perform for the last five slots. Stay tuned!
