Staz Nair has part of the title role in Fox Network’s production ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW: LET’S DO THE TIME WARP AGAIN, which premieres Thursday, October 20. Based on the 1976 movie, which in turn is based on Richard O’Brien’s oft-revived stage musical, the new ROCKY HORROR pays homage to the film’s cult hit status by cutting from the actors to a separate audience that responds as midnight screening attendees have done for forty years. For those who have somehow missed the ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW phenomenon, it’s the story of an innocent young couple, Brad and Janet (Ryan McCartan […]Read On »

Paramount Pictures held the Los Angeles Premiere of FUN SIZE recently at the Paramount Theater on the Paramount Studios Lot; the premiere was presented by Crush. FUN SIZE is a funny and outrageous family comedy and stars some of the newest popular young stars in Hollywood. The premiere was also a dream-come-true for one Make-A-Wish young man, who told me that attending a premiere was the wish that he wanted…this young man, Matthew Cardillo made the night even more special to see the happiness in his face as the stars came over to greet him. Walking the orange carpet were […]Read On »

Paramount’s Insurge Pictures turned Hollywood Boulevard into a concert arena for the Los Angeles Premiere of KATY PERRY: PART OF ME. With a stage built in the middle of the street and the bright pink carpet for Katy Perry and the guests to walk down first before the concert, which was located at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. On top of that over 5,000 screaming fans lined the street to hear the concert, and in the Hollywood/Highland complex fans stood on tables and looked out onto the street. The performance was a part of the Pepsi/Billboard Summer Beats Concert Series. KATY […]Read On »

DVD Review: iCARLY: THE COMPLETE 3rd SEASON

iCARLY: THE COMPLETE 3RD SEASON DVD | ©2011 Paramount Home Entertainment

Cast: Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Kress, Noah Munck Distributor: Paramount Home Entertainment Suggested Retail Price: $19.99 I hate to admit it, but Nickelodeon’s iCARLY has proven to be one of the best sitcoms around. It’s traditional in its structure, and yes it’s geared toward Tweens, but it’s above and beyond many sitcoms on Network TV and it puts most of Disney’s Tween-coms to shame. Why it works is creator Dan Schneider’s knack for telling strange, bizarre stories within traditional sitcom framework. iCARLY is centered around teenager Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove) who is the host of a popular Internet show […]Read On »

DVD Review: VICTORIOUS – Season One – Volume 1

VICTORIOUS - Season 1 - Volume 1 | ©2011 Paramount Home Entertainment

Cast: Victoria Justice, Leon Thomas III, Matt Bennett, Elizabeth Gillies, Ariana Grande, Avan Jogia, Daniella Monet, Michael Eric Rein, Eric Lange Distributor: Paramount Home Entertainment Suggested Retail Price: $19.99 While Dan Schneider has found success with Nickelodeon over the years with DRAKE AND JOSH and ZOEY 101, it was iCARLY that really gave him some mojo and parent cred for his incredible strange sitcom about an internet web show hosted by two Tween girls. It’s a concept that could have been unbearable, but it grew into a gargantuan hit and continues to surprise with its offbeat storytelling. Capitalizing on that […]Read On »

TV Review: iCARLY – Season 4 – “iLost My Mind”

Stars: Miranda Cosgrove, Jennette McCurdy, Nathan Kress, Jerry Trainor, Noah Munck Writers: Dan Schneider, Matt Fleckenstein Director: Steve Hoefer Network: Nickelodeon Original Telecast: August 13, 2011 You have to hand it to iCARLY for continuing to be the strangest and most satisfying series on Tween television. As it enters the second half of its fourth season on Nickelodeon, it continues to push and prod the humorous boundaries with its likable characters, silly situations and broad physical comedy. The new episode pays off the Season 4 cliffhanger where Sam (Jennette McCurdy) realized she had feelings for her object of hate Freddie […]Read On »

Nickelodeon held an exclusive screening of the TV Event of the summer – iCARLY WITH VICTORIOUS recently at The Lot in West Hollywood. Walking the “orange” carpet were the stars of the shows, which included: From iCARLY – Miranda Cosgrove, Noah Munck, Nathan Kress, Jennette McCurdy and Ethan Munck; From VICTORIOUS: Victoria Justice, Avan Jogia, Matt Bennett, Ariana Grande, Daniella Monet, Leon Thomas, Michael Reid, Cameron Stewart, and Dan Schneider. TV Movie Review: iCARLY – Season 4 – “iParty with Victorious”

Cast: Miranda Coscrove, Nathan Kress, Jennette McCurdy, Jerry Trainor, Noah Munck Writer: Dan Schneider Director: Steve Hoefer Network: Nickelodeon Original Telecast: June 11, 2011 The sporadic scheduling of iCARLY on Nickelodeon has certainly become somewhat frustrating over the last year. With only one new episode, on average, every month and a half or so, it’s very strange how extreme the network rations this show. Granted, the repeats do wonders for them, but when you have a show in its fourth season and only ten of what will probably be an 18-episode season (if you base it on the number of […]Read On »
