In honor of the 20th anniversary of Joss Whedon’s groundbreaking BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, we interviewed actor Camden Toy, who played three different terrifying characters on that series, and a more comedic one in the final series of the BUFFY spin-off ANGEL. In Part 1 of our exclusive interview, Toy talked about playing one of the silent, gliding Gentlemen in BUFFY’s near-wordless “Hush” episode. In Part 2, Toy talks his other two BUFFY roles, the sing-songy skin-eating demon Gnarl in the episode “Same Time, Same Place,” and the primal Ubervamp in multiple Season 7 episodes, his work on ANGEL and […]Read On »

Steven S. DeKnight served as the executive producer/show runner on the first season of Netflix’s DAREDEVIL, now streaming. He also created Starz’s four-season drama SPARTACUS, after working as a writer/producer on series including DOLLHOUSE, SMALLVILLE, BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER and ANGEL. DAREDEVIL was originally developed from the Marvel comics by Drew Goddard, but DeKnight came aboard when Goddard went to work on THE MARTIAN. For Season 2, DeKnight remains as an executive producer on DAREDEVIL, but he’s handed over the reins to Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie in order to work on a film project. Exclusive Interview: SPARTACUS VENGEANCE producer on the latest season

Liam McIntyre in SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE | ©2012 Starz

Starz Network’s SPARTACUS series, Friday nights at 10 PM, has gone through almost as many tribulations as its legendary hero. The first season, SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND, starred Andy Whitfield as the Thracian warrior sent into slavery and trained as a gladiator, only to turn on his master and free his fellows. Then Whitfield was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and the production company did a prequel season, SPARTACUS: GODS OF THE ARENA, while waiting for Whitfield to recover. Sadly, Whitfield’s cancer returned. He gave his blessing to the producers to recast the role and passed away in September 2011. Liam […]Read On »

SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE, which premieres tonight on Starz at 10 PM, is actually the second season of the SPARTACUS series, even though it’s the third year of the show. Series creator and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight understands how this might cause some head-scratching. In 2010’s SPARTACUS: BLOOD AND SAND, Andy Whitfield starred as the famous historical figure. The season followed him through his early days of being enslaved, being trained as a gladiator and finally leading a revolt at the Ludus (gladiator training camp) that left its owner Batiatus (John Hannah) definitively dead and Batiatus’ pregnant wife Lucretia, played by […]Read On »

TCA 2011: SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE will be “epic” says creator Steven S. DeKnight

Season 2 of SPARTACUS (dubbed SPARTACUS: VENGEANCE) is a half a year away from debuting, but creator and executive producer Steven S. DeKnight says the new season will outdo things that have already been seen in BLOOD & SAND and GODS OF THE ARENA. Part of this stems from the show getting out of the gladiator arena and sending the slaves on the run. “It’s exponentially more difficult and gigantic,” says DeKnight while speaking at today’s 2011 TCA session for Starz. “I ship the scripts off to [producer] Robert Tapert and dump a huge problem on his table. I’m always […]Read On »

DeKnight] is right here. You do find out how she survived and it’s going to backfire horribly on her.” Click on Link: For More news from the Summer 2011 TCA Click on Link: For Steven S.
