Pictures presented in association with Dark Castle Entertainment, An After Dark Films Production, and Signature Entertainment, and Silver Reel the Los Angeles Premiere of GETAWAY at the Regency Theater in Westwood. Vin Diesel received the 2,504th Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Motion Pictures on August 26th. The star is located in front of the historic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel on Hollywood Boulevard. It was a very hot day and unfortunately I landed up sitting in the sun and thought I was going to melt. On July 29th a big party was held by CBS/The CW/Showtime for the Television Critics Annual Summer Press Tour at The Event, which is actually the upper parking lot where the department store Robinson’s/May in Beverly Hills used to be. The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films recently held the 39th Annual Saturn Awards at The Castaway Starlight Ballroom in Burbank. It was a beautiful day and night high in the hills of Burbank. This award show is not televised, and honors a genre that the main award shows generally overlook. The host for the awards was Lance Reddick (FRINGE) and the awards were dedicated to Ray Harryhausen, who passed away May 7, 2013.  Richard Matheson who was to receive The Visionary Award this night, also passed away June 23, 2013. Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films held the World Premiere of THE LONE RANGER at Disney California Adventure Park at Disneyland in Anaheim on June 22nd. It was a huge premiere between all the press, fans, guests and the stars of the film. Having two pens for just the photographers, I was in pen A. Jerry Bruckheimer celebrated his 40-year career on June 24th by receiving the 2,501st star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in the Category of Motion Pictures. The Jerry Bruckheimer Walk of Fame star is located in front of the El Capitan Theatre, which was very fitting since THE PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN series, and the soon to be released THE LONE RANGER and many other films were released by Disney. Universal Pictures presented the American Premiere of FAST & FURIOUS 6 at the Universal CityWalk and Gibson Amphitheatre, Universal City Hollywood on May 21st. Fans got there before nine in the morning to get bracelets to be in the area by the CityWalk’s “5 Towers” Outdoor Concert Venue so they could watch the performances by Ludacis, Wiz Khalifa and 2 Chainz. Summit Entertainment held a special Los Angeles screening of NOW YOU SEE ME on May 23rd at the ArcLight Hollywood. Although it was just a screening the fans still came out to get autographs and pictures and screamed when they saw the stars.
