While they both focus on chimpanzees, the PLANET OF THE APES film series and real-world primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall aren’t generally thought of together. However,20th Century Fox has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute to provide care for rescued chimpanzees in honor of the latest installment of the film franchise, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES, due out July 14. Chimpanzees are hunted by humans in some areas for food, they are losing enormous amounts of habitat and some are unwisely kept as pets (great apes are very powerful and can, even unintentionally, inflict great bodily harm).
