Stephen King’s novel IT was originally published in 1986. It was first adapted as a television miniseries in 1990, then made into a two-film duology, 2017’s IT and 2019’s IT: CHAPTER TWO. Both films were directed by Andy Muschietti, with his sister Barbara Muschietti as one of the producers. IT is set in Derry, Maine, where a nameless, shapeshifting monster surfaces every twenty-seven years to prey on the town’s denizens, especially its children. In USA’s COMPLICATIONS, Thursdays at 9 PM, Jason O’Mara plays ER doctor John Ellison. The premise of the Matt Nix-created series hinges on what happens when John violently intervenes in a drive-by shooting to save the life of a little boy. Turns out the child is the son of a grateful gang lord, a situation that pulls the reluctant John into the city’s underworld. FOX Searchlight Pictures, Regency Enterprises and River Road Entertainment Presented a Special Screening recently of 12 YEARS A SLAVE at the Directors Guild of America in West Hollywood. It was a small event with some of the stars in the film. Seen walking the carpet were: Chiwetel Ejiofor, Lupita Nyong’O, Alfre Woodard, Garret Dillahunt, Jay Huguley, Rob Steinberg, Kelsey Scott, Ashley Dyke, Chris Chalk, Storm Reid, Craig Tate, Director Steve McQueen, Director of Photography Sean Bobbitt, Screenwriter John Ridley, and Composer Hans Zimmer.
