Peter Hujar was a New York-based photographer in the 1960s through the 1980s. Although he became much more famous after his death in 1987 than he had been in life, he was already acknowledged as an influential figure, known for the authenticity he captured in his mostly black-and-white work. On December 19, 1974, Hujar sat down with his good friend Linda Rosenkrantz, who at that point was planning to do a book of interviews with a variety of people she knew. While that project never materialized, the transcript of Rosenkrantz’s interview with Hujar was located in 2019 and published in […]Read On »

YOUR HOST movie poster | ©2025 RNF Productions

Rating: Not Rated Stars: Jackie Earle Haley, Ella-Rae Smith, Jamie Flatters, David Angland, Joelle Ray, Tom Claxton Writer: Joey Miller Director: DW Medoff Distributor: RNF Productions Release Date: October 14, 2025 (VOD) YOUR HOST concerns a torture game show, videotaped by the Host (Jackie Earle Haley). Since what seems to be happening at the outset is in fact the substance of the movie, it’s not too spoilery to say that the Host is doing this for his own reasons and that it’s not supernatural. We see “winner” Jake (Tom Claxton), shackled and bloodied, get shot after the Host breaks his […]Read On »

Few would argue that the U.S. has remained the same since then, but it hasn’t changed in exactly the way ANNIVERSARY anticipates. Scripted by Lori Rosene-Gambino from a story she co-wrote with director Jan Komasa, ANNIVERSARY shows political […]Read On »

Rating: Not Rated Stars: Jamie Costa, Emalia, Indianna Sparke, Brooke Marsden, Jet Tranter, Geoff Imrie Writer: Tom Evans Director: Luke Sparke Distributor: Signature Entertainment Release Date: October 3, 2025 (VOD) SCURRY takes place in real time. It is also made to look like it’s shot in one continuous take, although viewers familiar with how these things are done will notice those helpful optical swerves into black walls and the like. SCURRY begins mid-catastrophe, as the upper floor of an office building shudders while workers try to flee and at least one is grabbed and bloodily killed by something we don’t […]Read On »

Rating: R Stars: Seth Rogen, Aziz Ansari, Keanu Reeves, Keke Palmer, Sandra Oh, Stephen McKinley Henderson Writer: Aziz Ansari Director: Aziz Ansari Distributor: Lionsgate Release Date: October 17, 2025 In GOOD FORTUNE, writer/director Aziz Ansari takes the basic premise of IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE and swirls it together with TRADING PLACES. Ansari adds enough twists so that GOOD FORTUNE isn’t a carbon copy of either, while using Keanu Reeves’s comedic style to maximum effect.
