Nowadays, WWE is making a slew of movies every year. But back in 2006, SEE NO EVIL was one of its first forays into movie making – trying to transition its wrestlers from just in-ring performers and trying to perhaps jump-start another Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
SEE NO EVIL wasn’t too bad. It starred Glenn “Kane” Jacobs terrorizing a group of college students that were investigating some crazy hotel were stuff had gone down.
Now, WWE is going back to its roots with a sequel, aptly named SEE NO EVIL 2. The interesting thing here is not that it will once again star Kane in the lead, but that it will be directed by the Jen and Slyvia Soska – the Soska Sisters – that recently did the great AMERICAN MARY and previously did the unrated DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK.
Here’s what the WWE and Lionsgate have to say about the film:
“SEE NO EVIL 2 revives the nightmare of the first film when Jacob Goodnight rises from the dead in the city morgue after his killing spree at the Blackwell hotel. In this ominous, underground locker for the dead, a group of medical students fight to survive as this deranged psychopath once again starts to pick them apart one by one.”
Production is scheduled to begin this fall with presumably a 2014 release.
