Stars: Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz Writer: Brad Falchuk Director: Brad Falchuk Network: Fox, airs Tuesday nights Original Telecast: May 24, 2011 Well we have at last reached the end of the second season of GLEE. This season had some really high points, and some horribly preachy overdone episodes, but all in all I try to just remember the moments that honestly were amazing. Following on the heels of last week’s episode “Funeral” (which was one of BEST episodes of the […]Read On »

The Dork Side: The problem with GLEE and its real “agenda”

I like GLEE. I really do, but, I have a problem with it, and I want you to know that I criticize it, because I care. Conservative pundits have been ranting about the supposed gay agenda the show is pushing, which is completely ridiculous. Of course, several media outlets ran with the story even though it’s total crap. There is no gay agenda. It’s just a TV show that treats its gay characters like actual human beings. “Gay people are people, too. Film at 11.” GLEE (which airs its Season 2 finale tonight) does a lot of things right. It […]Read On »

TV Review: GLEE – Season 2 – “Funeral”

Jane Lynch, Jessalyn Golsig, Kent Avenido in GLEE - Season 2 - "Funeral" | ©2011 Fox/Beth Dubber

Stars: Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz Writer: Ryan Murphy Director:  Bradley Buecker Network: Fox, airs Tuesday nights Original Telecast: May 18, 2011 Characters should be the backbone of any TV series. They should move a series forward, they should connect with an audience and there should be some consistency in their actions as well. With GLEE in Season 2, it’s proven to be a topsy-turvy ride character-wise with random motivations, left-field personality switches and a heavy reliance on romantic pairings that […]Read On »

TV Review: GLEE – Season 2 – “Prom Queen”

Stars: Dianna Agron, Chris Colfer, Jessalyn Gilsig, Jane Lynch, Jayma Mays, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Matthew Morrison, Amber Riley, Mark Salling, Jenna Ushkowitz Writer: Ian Brennan Director: Eric Stoltz Network: Fox, airs Tuesday nights Original Telecast: May 10, 2011 GLEE seems to have gotten off the preachy wagon and somewhat more on track with this week’s episode “Prom Queen”.  Of course since there are lots of gay themes this week, conservative America led by the sow of the decade Victoria Jackson will consider this episode part of the dreaded “Gay Agenda”. Incidentally, if I could figure out what […]Read On »

10 AMERICAN IDOL fixes that can save the Fox franchise

Ryan Seacrest, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson in AMERICAN IDOL - Season 10 | ©2011 Fox/Tony Duran

With AMERICAN IDOL halfway through Season 10 with one of the best batches of vocalists in years, it’s time to take a look at what’s working with the show and what isn’t. Even though new judges Steven Tyler and Jennifer Lopez have added some spice to the judges tables, the lack of any real meaty criticisms have also been a detriment. That said, no matter how much IDOL feels like it’s Teflon, it will have serious competition from THE X FACTOR judged and mentored by former IDOL Simon Cowell. When people watch that show in the fall and realize what […]Read On »

AMERICAN IDOL recap: Stefano Langone finally gets the overdramatic boot

Stefano Langone is eliminated on AMERICAN IDOL - Season 10 - Final 7 elimination night | ©2011 Fox/Michael Becker

So it was time for Stefano Langone to go home this week on Season 10 of the world’s greatest karaoke competition, AMERICAN IDOL. Well, I can’t say that I didn’t see this one coming given I have predicted his departure from the show for the past four weeks in a row. And, honestly, he should have been gone a long time ago before this week. No way in hell Pia Toscano should be gone and not Stefano. With his crazy eyes, weird facial expressions and wacky overdramatic nature to his performances (not to mention his singing ballad after ballad) finally […]Read On »
