In CBS’s new series INTELLIGENCE, Mondays at 10 PM, Josh Holloway playsU.S. government agent Gabriel Vaughn, who has a computer chip in his head that allows him to both access computers all over the world and virtually walk through “computer render” scenes of events that have happened. Because of this, Gabriel is a valuable asset requiring protection, much to his annoyance. In TRUE DETECTIVE, HBO Sundays at 9 PM, Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey play two very different Louisiana police detectives who worked a seemingly occult serial killer case back in 1995 that seems to be resonating in the present. The closed-ended eight-episode series, created by Nick Pizzolatto, moves back and forth across decades and continually surprises the audience. Michelle Monaghan plays Maggie Hart, the increasingly fed-up wife of Harrelson’s Martin Hart who becomes intrigued by McConaughey’s haunted Rust Cohle.
