When Marlee Matlin won the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role for her performance in 1986’s CHILDREN OF A LESSER GOD, she became the first Deaf person to receive an Oscar for acting. Before and since, Matlin has had an extraordinary career as a performer, producer and author. Now director/producer Shoshannah Stern has made a documentary, MARLEE MATLIN: NOT ALONE ANYMORE, for PBS’s AMERICAN MASTERS.
