ABC has just picked up its freshman half-hour comedy THE GOLDBERGS, Tuesday nights at 9 PM, for a full season. Set in the mid-1980s, the show is based on the real-life adventures of series creator Adam F. Goldberg, then an eleven-year-old budding filmmaker (played by Sean Giambrone) who drove his family crazy by following them around with a huge video camera (the real-life footage can be seen at the ends of each episode). On TV Land’s RETIRED AT 35, now in its second season Wednesdays at 11 PM, Johnathan McClain plays the title character, David Robbins, who quits his awful job and returns to his hometown, only to be caught up in quarrels between his strong-willed parents, played by George Segal and Jessica Walter. McClain is a native of South Carolina whose TV resume includes 24, MEDIUM and CSI. This interview was conducted over the phone.
