While they both focus on chimpanzees, the PLANET OF THE APES film series and real-world primatologist Dr. Jane Goodall aren’t generally thought of together. However,20th Century Fox has partnered with the Jane Goodall Institute to provide care for rescued chimpanzees in honor of the latest installment of the film franchise, WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES, due out July 14. In 1984 Donald Duck was honored in an official Handprint and Footprint Ceremony at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Alvin, Simon and Theodore of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS fame, the World Famous Chipmunks now join Donald. It was such a fun day! Alvin, Simon and Theodore walked out from the theatre to be greeted by 300 children from the Hollenbeck Middle School all dressed in Alvin t-shirts, plus fans and all the press. So when the stars walked across the street to sign autographs they had to stop the traffic. The fans screamed very loudly for James Franco, Tom Felton and Rupert Grint. POPPER’S PENGUINS written on it, there was loads of cotton to make it look like snow drifts and snow blowing (actually it was soap suds) as the stars walked down the carpet at the start of the premiere.
