Diane Lane cast as Martha Kent in new SUPERMAN movie

Warner Bros. just announced that actress Diane Lane will be cast as Martha Kent in the new SUPERMAN movie reboot directed by Zack Snyder. In the press release, Snyder notes, “This was a very important piece of casting for me because Martha Kent is the woman whose values helped shape the man we know as Superman. We are thrilled to have Diane in the role because she can convey the wisdom and the wonder of a woman whose son has powers beyond her imagination.” Henry Cavill stars as the new Clark Kent/Superman. Looks like Brandon Routh will be shedding some Kryptonian tears – the actor is no longer the Man of Steel in the new SUPERMAN movie currently dubbed SUPERMAN: MAN OF STEEL.
