Stars: Rainn Wilson, John Krasinski, Jenna Fischer, B.J. Novak, Ed Helms Writer: Paul Lieberstein Director: Jeffrey Blitz Network: NBC, airs Thursday nights Original Telecast: May 19. 2011 I can understand NBC’s need to hype the fact that big stars like Ray Romano, James Spader and Jim Carrey were going to drop by THE OFFICE to vie for the job of new Dunder-Mifflin manager after Steve Carell said his goodbyes a couple of weeks ago as Michael Scott. However, it almost torpedoes this one-hour season finale “Search Committee” because we already know all the surprises. We even know that THE OFFICE […]Read On »

THE COMPLETELY MADE-UP ADVENTURES OF DICK TURPIN - Season 1 Key Art | ©2024 Apple TV+

THE COMPLETELY MADE-UP ADVENTURES OF DICK TURPIN, currently in its first season in the U.S. on Apple TV+, is a British comedy/fantasy take on the legendary (but real-world) eighteenth-century English highwayman. Noel Fielding is co-creator and star of the cult favorite THE MIGHTY BOOSH (2003-2007) and, from 2017 through the present, one of the hosts of THE GREAT BRITISH BAKING SHOW and THE GREAT CELEBRITY BAKE OFF. Fielding plays Turpin as a kind-hearted pacifist vegan who accidentally becomes head of an outlaw gang. Wilson, Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal Writers: Ethan Coen & Tricia Cooke Director: Ethan Coen Distributor: Focus Features Release Date: February 23, 2024 DRIVE-AWAY DOLLS has the unmistakable cadence of a Coen Brothers movie, even though on this one, Ethan Coen is directing solo and co-wrote the script with Tricia Cooke, rather than sibling Joel, his usual collaborator. The film succeeds in being at once super-raunchy, somewhat sweet, occasionally very violent, and often so light that it threatens to float away. We begin in late […]Read On »
