TCM (Turner Classic Movies) kicked off the TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL 2011 at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, with an Opening Night Gala and World Premiere of the Newly Restored 1951 film AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, which corresponded with the 60th anniversary of its original release. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is a colorful musical about a painter finding art and romance in the City of Lights. The movie starred the late Gene Kelly, who passed away in 1996, and Leslie Caron, who attended the gala presentation. Disney held the World Premiere of PROM at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on April 21st.  Most of the stars and the guests wore prom dresses and tuxedos as they walked the red carpet. The women were given on check-in wrist corsages and the men a label corsage. Disney had requested that the guests bring a gently worn prom or special occasion dress to donate to LA’s Prom Closet, which is a 100% volunteer nonprofit organization dedicated to helping young women in high school attend their senior prom by providing students new and used gowns for FREE. Warner Bros. Pictures, in association with Legendary Pictures, a Cruel and Unusual Production, and a Zack Snyder film held the Los Angeles World Premiere of SUCKER PUNCH on March 23rd at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Once again it was a rainy night and the press were inside a tent. The black carpet, which had SUCKER PUNCH imprinted on it, was decorated by posters that featured all the stars’ characters and at the end of the carpet was a statue. Walt Disney Pictures held the World Premiere of MARS NEEDS MOMS on March 6th at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. When nine-year-old Milo (Seth Green) finds that his mom (Joan Cusack) was nabbed by Martians he decides to go on a quest to save her. What do the Martians want with his mom?
