It’s a hit musical comedy-drama series on Fox, now going into its third year; it’s a series of original cast worldwide live concert tours; it’s GLEE: THE 3D CONCERT MOVIE, now in theaters. All of these are choreographed by Zach Woodlee, who also serves as an on-camera mentor on Oxygen’s reality competition show THE GLEE PROJECT, which has its season finale this Sunday, with the winner getting a role on GLEE the series. TCM (Turner Classic Movies) kicked off the TCM CLASSIC FILM FESTIVAL 2011 at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, with an Opening Night Gala and World Premiere of the Newly Restored 1951 film AN AMERICAN IN PARIS, which corresponded with the 60th anniversary of its original release. AN AMERICAN IN PARIS is a colorful musical about a painter finding art and romance in the City of Lights. The movie starred the late Gene Kelly, who passed away in 1996, and Leslie Caron, who attended the gala presentation. TV Review: GLEE – SEASON 2 – “Substitute”

One good thing could be said for the latest, lackluster episode of GLEE. The title “Substitute” didn’t result in a show choir version of The Who’s “Substitute.” Now that would be too obvious for a show, that occasionally lacks in subtlety. What is obvious?  “Substitute” features movie star Gwyneth Paltrow in yet another one of GLEE’s throwaway episodes designed to showcase a particular concept (“The Rocky Horror Glee Show”/Britney Spears songs) or to give a guest star the full court treatment to suck away valuable screen time from the very able recurring cast. “Substitute” isn’t as bad as many episodes […]Read On »
