Dark Delicacies Bookstore in Burbank has been a fixture in the horror community since it first opened twenty-five years ago. Owners Del Howison, a horror writer himself, and Susan Duncan-Howison are currently running an auction, which culminates Saturday, February 2, to help fund Dark Delicacies’ move from its current location to its new home. As they’ve been preparing the move, an outpouring of support from the genre filmmaking community (including Academy Award winning director Guillermo del Toro) have helped bring attention to the bookstore everlasting legacy. Well, the latest poster for the final HARRY POTTER film – HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS – PART 2 has arrived and it says it all: “It All Ends.” Arriving in theaters in 3D on July 15, the final chapter of the film adaptations of J.K. Rowling’s novels will feature the climactic battle between good (Harry as played by Daniel Radcliffe) and evil (Lord Voldemort as played by Ralph Fiennes). During the press event for THE THREE MUSKETEERS during WonderCon 2011, actor Logan Lerman commented on the prospects of a sequel to last year’s successful PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS. “I don’t know anything about it,” he says. “I haven’t heard anything but I’m excited about it.” Well, not a heck of a lot, but let’s hope they greenlight the sequel soon or Lerman’s going to be all grown up. EARTHSEED novel plants TWILIGHT Melissa Rosenberg to write and produce

Paramount Pictures may have let the TWILIGHT saga slip through their fingers (D’oh), but they’ve learned their lesson and have optioned the novel EARTHSEED by Pamela Sargent and have landed TWILIGHT scribe Melissa Rosenberg to write and produce. EARTHSEED is part of a trilogy of young adult books that also include FARSEED and SEED SEEKER about a group of teenagers bred on a spaceship through genetics and without parents. “EARTHSEED is an incredibly compelling world and I’m excited to dive into it,” said Rosenberg today in a press release. “The film’s premise easily lends itself to an exciting franchise with […]Read On »
