HOUSE ends its eight-year run tonight with a two-hour finale beginning at 8 PM on Fox. We caught up very briefly with Robert Sean Leonard, who has played Dr. James Wilson, exasperated best friend of Hugh Laurie’s difficult-to-get-along-with Dr. Gregory House, for the entire run, and got his views of two topics – his love of theatre and his dislike of the term “bromance,” especially as applied to Wilson and House. ASSIGNMENT X: You’ve been on Broadway twelve times so far. Do you have a preference for doing series television or theatrical film or stage? ROBERT SEAN LEONARD: Yes. It’s […]Read On »

Fox has just renewed BONES for an eighth season. The series, now on Monday nights at 8 PM, was developed by Hart Hanson from Kathy Reichs’ novels about a forensic anthropologist who uses her skills to solve homicide cases. On the show, Dr. Temperance Brennan, played by Emily Deschanel, teamed up with FBI agent Seeley Booth, played by David Boreanaz, to find and catch murderers. Over time, the partnership became a will-they/won’t-they romantic relationship, which became a yes-they-do when Brennan became pregnant by Booth at the end of last season. In the episode “The Prisoner in the Pipe,” their daughter […]Read On »

With HOUSE returning for Season 8 with a leaner cast this fall, and a long negotiation process that delayed the announcement it would be returning, the question mark of whether the show will return for a Season 9 was in the air at today’s Summer 2011 Television Critics Association session for Fox. Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly says he still has no word if this will be the show’s final season. “I can’t confirm it’s the last season,” says Reilly. “Hugh [Laurie] is mulling it. The producers are. This is the original team of creators who have been there from […]Read On »

Okay. So the sky isn’t falling … just yet, but at today’s Fox Winter TCA tour in Pasadena, CA, Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly admitted that the reason why HOUSE and BONES haven’t been renewed for next season comes down to contract negotiations. “Both shows are creatively important to us,” Reilly says. “I anticipate both will be back. We want them both. It’s more about ‘can we make a deal.’”

TV Review: HOUSE – Season 7 – “Selfish”

Hugh Laurie in HOUSE - Season 7 | ©2010 Fox

Stars: Hugh Laurie, Lisa Edelstein, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Olivia Wilde, Peter Jacobson Writer: Eli Attie Director: Daniel Attias Network: Fox, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: September 27, 2010 Did we get our first real HOUSE episode of the season? Not to knock the season premiere, “Now What?” (which was good but hardly resembled a HOUSE episode), but “Selfish” showed us that Huddy and HOUSE can coexist and in fact make for some darn good television. To be honest, that was what was on the line this week: whether HOUSE can truly pull this off or if, […]Read On »

TV Review: HOUSE – Season 7 – “Now What?” – Season Premiere

Stars: Hugh Laurie, Lisa Edelstein, Robert Sean Leonard, Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Olivia Wilde, Peter Jacobson Writer: Doris Egan Director: Greg Yaitanes Network: Fox, airs Monday nights Original Telecast: September 20, 2010 Well, it was real. Huddy (House + Cuddy for you folks out there not in the know) is happening, and to be honest, I’m not sure how I feel about that as HOUSE enters its seventh season. I suppose it would have been utterly ridiculous to have House (Hugh Laurie) and Cuddy’s (Lisa Edelstein) encounter be another hallucination or a dream or any other DALLAS type ending. At […]Read On »
