From THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN to THE DIRTY DOZEN, Hollywood scores have rejoiced in teams of bad-asses determined to go out in a blaze of glory. But seldom has a composer done a Holy Hell blow out like Steven Price with SUICIDE SQUAD. Packing together a rogues gallery of wannabe Batman killers into a force of extraordinarily evil magnitude, the Oscar winner of GRAVITY creates an ironically unintended superhero score to kill them all. Taken from Arkham Asylum for their mad skills with weapons, sorcery, mutant powers and sensual psychotic chops, Price brings the hybrid rage of today’s action scoring to the next level, blending […]Read On »

Mehcad Brooks as Jimmy Olsen in SUPERGIRL | © 2016 Michael Yarish/CBS

On CBS’ SUPERGIRL, which has its first-season finale Monday, April 18 at 8 PM, it looks as though Supergirl, aka Kara Zor-El, aka CatCo executive assistant Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist), may finally get together with ace photojournalist James aka Jimmy Olsen, played by Mehcad Brooks. She’s confessed her love for him that’s grown out of a crush, his adoration of her is obvious to anyone who’s seen them together, and they’ve kissed – and then unfortunately the Kryptonian Myriad plan was unleashed, so James is currently mentally enslaved by Kara’s angry uncle Non (Chris Vance), along with nearly all of […]Read On »

GOTHAM creator Bruno Heller talks young Batman – Exclusive Interview

GOTHAM logo | ©2014 Fox

Fox’s GOTHAM, premiering Monday, September 22 at 8 PM, depicts Bruce Wayne as a teen orphan played by David Mazouz, before he dons Batman’s cowl. This might draw comparisons to SMALLVILLE, which dramatized the early life of Superman, another DC Comics hero, but GOTHAM has a much more adult feel. Detective Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) – who BATMAN fans know will one day become Gotham City’s police commissioner – is at the center of the action, surrounded by people who give indications that they will someday become iconic figures in this universe, including Catwoman, the Penguin and the Riddler. Thanks […]Read On »

First Look Image of Henry Cavill as Superman in MAN OF STEEL

With Zack Snyder directing and Christopher Nolan producing, excitement for the new Superman movie reboot MAN OF STEEL couldn’t be higher. Then, Warner Bros. sneaks this first look of actor Henry Cavill as Superman, and well, it’s pretty freakin’ cool. The ghost of Christopher Reeve and near lookalike Brandon Routh is giving way for a more modern caped crusader. The movie opens June 14, 2013 – so we have a long time to wait before fanboy nirvana (or exhaustion hits), but for now, nicely done.   AGREE? DISAGREE? LET US KNOW HOW YOU FEEL – COMMENT BELOW! 2011 Los Angeles Film Festival poster

Dateline: Downtown Los Angeles Exactly why, you may wonder, would one need to attend a film festival in Los Angeles. Isn’t everyday a film day? Yes and no. Sure, any given day there might be a film premiere or a star appearance. But only the Los Angeles Film Festival offers such a magnificent mix of multimedia culture clash. It may be only the second year for the LA Film Festival in its new location—downtown’s glitzy steel and glass entertainment center known as L.A. Live—but it already seems as familiar as popcorn and butter. With most films showing at the Regal […]Read On »
