For five seasons Zachary Levi has taken his Chuck Bartowski character on CHUCK from slacker nerd to suave spy. The series ends tonight on NBC and Levi says it wasn’t without a few tears. The actor spoke with ASSIGNMENT X in this sit down interview where he spoke about his five years on the show, and, of course, if he thinks there might be CHUCK feature films in the future. ZACHARY LEVI: Who knows if there will ever be a CHUCK movie. The show lends itself to be a film. Every episode was like a mini-movie. It would be kind […]Read On »

CHUCK, NBC’s cult hit comedy about a good-hearted big box store worker turned international spy played by Zachary Levi, comes to an end tonight with a two-hour series finale at 8 PM. To mark the end of CHUCK’s five-year run, NBC hosted a conference call on Monday with Adam Baldwin, who has starred on the series as experienced espionage agent John Casey, one of Chuck’s handlers, and Chris Fedak, who created the series with fellow executive producer Josh Schwartz. Here are some highlights of that conversation. On what can be said about the big finale, Fedak says, “It’s going to […]Read On »

CHUCK, the romantic spy comedy that has lasted five seasons on NBC, draws to a close with a two-hour series finale this Friday night at 8 PM. Co-created by Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz, CHUCK has chronicled the evolution of Zachary Levi’s Chuck Bartowski from nerdy Buy More employee to confused spy to genuine hero and husband of more experienced fellow spy Sarah Walker, played by Yvonne Strahovski. Schwartz, who previously created THE O.C. for Fox and still has GOSSIP GIRL on the CW, is now in post-production on his feature film directing debut FUN SIZE and is in pre-production […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: CHUCK star Vik Sahay on five years of being Lester

Vik Sahay in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. The Hack Off" | ©2011 NBC/Matt Kennedy

For five years on CHUCK, our title hero, played by Zachary Levi, has had to juggle his secret spy life with his work life at the big-box Buy More store. All of Chuck’s work mates at the Buy More are a little eccentric, but Lester Patel, played by Vik Sahay, is borderline diabolical. At various times, Lester and his now-reformed erstwhile partner-in-crime Jeff, played by Scott Krinsky, have staged rebellions, tried to blow up the Buy More and formed the two-man band Jeffster. This season, Lester has gone to jail for trying to poison Jeff back to his old weird […]Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 5 – “Vs. The Business Trip”

David Koechner and Zachary Levi in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. The Business Trip" | ©2011 NBC/Ron Tom

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Kristin Newman Director: Allan Kroeker Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: November 18, 2011 Now, “Vs. The Business Trip” is more like the CHUCK we’ve known and loved all these past five seasons. With a CIA hit put out on Morgan (Joshua Gomez) because he’s been telling everyone he has the Intersect, that CIA database imprinted in the brain that Chuck (Zachary Levi) used to have, General Beckman (Bonita Friedericy) comes and takes it away. End of problem, right? Chuck and Sarah go back trying to […]Read On »

TV Review: CHUCK – Season 5 – “Vs. The Frosted Tips”

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Phil Klemmer Director: Paul Marks Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: November 11, 2011 I think it’s safe to say that among the CHUCK faithful, it’s pretty universally acknowledged that letting Morgan (Joshua Gomez) have the Intersect (basically all the CIA and NSA intelligence downloaded into the brain) was a massive, colossal mistake. And while last week’s episode seemed to cement that opinion with Morgan acting like a complete and total jerk, it did end with a tiny glimmer of hope that there might be something more […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: CHUCK co-creator Chris Fedak and co-star Joshua Gomez on the secrets of the final season – Part 2

Joshua Gomez in CHUCK - Season 5 - "Vs. the Frosted Tips" | ©2011 NBC/Jordin Althaus

NBC’s CHUCK, now in its fifth season in its new timeslot on Fridays at 8 PM, is the brainchild of creators/executive producers Chris Fedak and Josh Schwartz. The title character, played by Zachary Levi, started out as a nerdy employee at the Buy More who was transformed into an inexperienced super spy when his brain became filled with the Intersect, a wealth of espionage knowledge that also (at the end of Season Two) included fighting skills. Over the years, Chuck fell in love with and finally married his spy handler Sarah, played by Yvonne Strahovski, and befriended grumpy fellow spy […]Read On »

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Joshua Gomez, Adam Baldwin, Vik Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Ryan McPartlin Writer: Rafe Judkins and Lauren LeFranc Director: Patrick Norris Network: NBC, Friday nights, 8 p.m. Original Telecast: November 4, 2011 There is hope for this new, horrible, turn CHUCK has taken, namely that of Morgan Grimes (Joshua Gomez) as the Intersect – the CIA/NSA database of bad guys, etc., that had formerly been downloaded into Chuck (Zachary Levi). It does not come until the end of this utterly dreary episode, but it is a glimmer of hope. Until then, Morgan is not handling the download of the Intersect very […]Read On »

DVD Review: CHUCK – THE COMPLETE SEASON 4

CHUCK - THE COMPLETE SEASON 4 | ©2011 Warner Home Video

Stars: Zachary Levi, Yvonne Strahovski, Adam Baldwin, Joshua Gomez, Vic Sahay, Scott Krinsky, Sarah Lancaster, Ryan McPartlin, Mark Christopher Lawrence, Bonita Friedericy Distributor: Warner Home Video Suggested Retail Price: $59.98 It’s hard to hate CHUCK, even when it sometimes veers wildly off course. Yet, when all is said and done, CHUCK – THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON still provided some pretty great episodes during a massive (and occasionally uneven) 24-episode season. Season 4 gets off to a rocky start with Chuck (Zachary Levi) and Sarah (Yvonne Strahovski) constantly having relationship woes as they deal with their forthcoming wedding. This is where […]Read On »
