I don’t know how they do it but they do it almost every time. This week’s DALLAS is top notch with more action, drama and suspense in one episode than most TV shows have in one season.

Christopher’s (Jesse Metcalfe) witness for his divorce proceedings goes mysteriously missing while his soon-to-be ex wife Pamela Barnes (Julia Gonzalo) begins an illicit affair with John Ross (Josh Henderson). The two, for now, comfortably mix business and pleasure but Pamela is starting to make John Ross look infantile when it comes to sweet revenge. He may just learn a thing or two from her, not the other way around like presumed.

Meanwhile, Annie (Brenda Strong,  who continues to mesmerize us in every scene she’s in) learns her evil ex husband Harris Ryland (Mitch Pileggi), who has no problem being vindictive himself, kidnapped their daughter long ago and let her believe all this time that she was missing. Annie is beyond distraught and seeks charges against her despicable ex, which are soon dropped. Their daughter Emma hates her and still wants nothing to do with her but that doesn’t stop Annie from trying.

And then they just keep on coming…enter Drew – Elena’s(Jordana Brewster) somewhat mysterious brother who decides to come back into town to stay. It’s obvious his intentions aren’t pure and that he has an intriguing past waiting to be resurrected.

New character after new character is introduced and smooth as silk integrated into the cast as though they were there all along. New storylines emerge while we connect the dots with one character after another. With some characters, Tommy, for one, although supposedly long dead, keep popping up in twist after twist. They keep hinting at the whereabouts of his body but we still haven’t seen it yet. J.R. (Larry Hagman) even gets into the Tommy finding business by using his  keen sense of negotiation to keep Cliff Barnes’ grubby paws off any stake in Ewing Enterprises.

Let’s just say when Hagman is on screen, it’s hard not to suck in every moment of his screen time, with the dreadful and unavoidable knowledge of J.R.’s demise just around the corner, it’s only right we appreciate him while we still can.

Bobby (Patrick Duffy), desperate to help his wife win back her daughter’s love, finds he has no other choice than to go to his big brother J.R. for help. Wow, even Bobby’s getting his hands dirty. No one stays clean in a town built on oil.

But, Annie finally gets pushed to her limit with Harris and she blasts him, leaving us to wonder, is he or isn’t he…dead that is.
