“Endless Wonder” once again walks that line for me with WAREHOUSE 13, where I’m entertained, but I’m not entirely certain I’m loving what I’m seeing. Again there’s a lot of jokey kind of dumb humor back and forth between the characters, even though what they are facing is life threatening and very serious. Which this could be argued that the humor is merely the characters’ ways of dealing with levels of stress and responsibility of their jobs.

Anywho in this episode Myka (Joanne Kelly) and Pete (Eddie McClintock) truck off to find an artifact that is making people taller, which wouldn’t be a problem, if they stopped growing, but as is…they grow pretty much until they die. There’s a pharmaceutical company also involved as all of the victims are taking pills from said company, so this episode introduces new cast member Deb Stanley (Danielle Nicolet) who it looks like become a full-fledged Warehouse agent. She and Pete hook up and there is a lovely scene with Myka chastising Pete and calling him a slut over and over. One of the better moments of this episode.

So this brings me to the question of how many freakin’ Warehouse agents are we going to have? We have the starter pair of Pete and Myka, then we have Jinks (Aaron Ashmore) and Claudia (Allison Scagliotti), of course there’s Artie (Saul Rubinek), and finally on the sidelines we have H.G. (Jaime Murray). So if we add in Deb that makes six Warehouse agents on possible work duty rotation. Isn’t that a bit much for this series? How can the writers make the storylines for that many agents not only interesting but also give them a bit of depth of character (which I think is what is lacking for me at this point in the series with all of the current characters).

Artie gets another chance to stop crazy Brother Adrian (Brent Spiner), but gets psyched out and essentially lets him walk out of the damn room without tesla blasting his ass. Boo. Artie you are a shmuck. He’s had countless opportunities to take this whack job down and every time Adrian just sashays away to haunt the Warehouse for another day. I know this is the big bad storyline for this season, but I’m getting really tired of it. It all boils down to finding a way to stop the Brotherhood from harassing the Warehouse anymore, and not using the astrolabe again…otherwise everyone’s dead and the Warehouse is gone. So clearly that’s not going to happen.

Plus speaking of Brent Spiner – anyone else think it was weird and maybe a little tacky to have Pete crack wise with a Data joke from STAR TREK? I mean the guy is guest starring in the series, it’s a little too weird to crack jokes about their past characters while they are on the show, isn’t it?
