I read a tweet earlier this week from the creators of REVOLUTION about how the second half of the season is much better than the first.

To that I say, thank God because it really needs the help.

Not that “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” was all bad. In fact, compared to last week’s disaster of an episode and the previous few episodes that really did nothing for the show at all, the fall finale actually moved the series forward and to a point where they might be able to do something special if all the chips all into place.

This episode was the culmination of the entire first 10 episodes of the show as Charlie (Tracy Spirdakos), Miles (Billy Burke), Nora (Daniella Alonso) and Aaron (Zak Orth) finally arrived at Monroe headquarters to rescue Danny (Graham Rogers) from the evil clutches of his army and minions. Now you’d think this would have been a really good episode filled with lots of action where the group storms the gates and takes out a number of the bad guys.

Instead, most of the episode was spent with most of the groups in the clutches of the Monroe militia and once-again Miles saving the day by rescuing everyone (again). Meanwhile, Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) was forced to complete the generator that would boost power in order to give larger vehicles the ability to come back to life. Funny, since once little triangle of power was able to restart a slew of generators and power a freaking lighthouse. You’d think that the same could be done with one helicopter. But apparently a huge machine was needed to boost power enough to get the thing running.

And it did run at the end, once Miles had rescued everyone – including Danny – and the group escaped the militia compound. Of course, the first episode back will show that Rachel really didn’t fix the generator but just for a short period of time and the helicopter will crash. Watch it happen.

Along the way we got the obligatory fight between Miles and Monroe (David Lyons) that while tedious was better than it could have been.

Here’s hoping that the second half of the season will be able to salvage this show from the depths of cancellation and bring about a show that actually could be quite entertaining.

Charlie-isms this week:

  • Pouting Charlie – What, did you think it wouldn’t be on the list?
  • Scorned Charlie – Definitely not happy to see momma.
  • Happy Charlie – Did she really think Miles wouldn’t make it out, he’s the only one that saves everyone.
  • Brave Charlie – She was willing to take a bullet so that Monroe didn’t get what he wanted.
  • Fighting mad Charlie – She showed her brother how she can kill pretty easily these days.
