Twentieth Century Fox and Walden Media held a special screening recently of CHASING MAVERICKS at the Pacific’s The Grove Stadium 14, in the front of the theatre.
The blue carpet was decorated with people holding surfboards and the fans that gathered to see the stars arrive were right behind the boards.
Walking the carpet were the stars of the film, which included: Gerard Butler, Jonny Weston, Leven Rambin, Abigail Spencer, Elisabeth Shue, Taylor Handley, Kaila Pearson, Maya Raines, Michael Apted (Director), and professional surfers – Greg Long, Peter Mel, and Zac Wormhoudt.
Frosty Hesson, who is portrayed by Gerard Butler was also there.
CHASING MAVERICKS is the true story of surfing phenomenon Jay Moriarity (Jonny Weston) who discovers when he was 15 years old that the mythic Mavericks surf break, one of the biggest waves on Earth, is near his Santa Cruz home. He enlists the help of local legend Frosty Hesson to train him to survive this massive wave.
