All I can say is WOW! The first shocking elimination of DANCING WITH THE STARS – Season 15: The All Stars sends Joey Fatone home. We all were reminded how important the audience voters truly are and how they can make or break someone’s chances at winning this competition. Fatone along with his partner Kym Johnson were bested tonight by three lower scoring couples – Bristol Palin & Mark Ballas, Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy, and Kirstie Alley & Maks Chmerkovskiy. And somehow he did not match the fans’ votes with two other couples who scored exactly the same as he and Johnson – Emmitt Smith & Cheryl Burke and Drew Lachey & Anna Trebunskaya.

Before the shocker, we were rewarded with an encore presentation from the leaders of the pack Sabrina Bryan & Louis Van Amstel. Quickly however, Bryan was saved along with Smith and Lachey, which left Fatone in jeopardy for the entire remainder of the show. British teen sensation as host Tom Bergeron calls her Cher Lloyd – who? – sang some kind of funky pop number and then a video about the pressure the pros have to bring it up a level for their all stars preceded a Macy’s Stars of Dance performance. I have said it before and I will say it again the MSOD is my least favorite part of the results show. A time killer, no doubt.

The DWTS Troupe performed a quick dance number before we were back to finding out who was safe and who just might be in jeopardy. This time around we saw Shawn Johnson & Derek Hough safe as well as Alley & Maks Chemerkovskiy and, yes, she did it again, Palin & Ballas were saved again. This left Kelly Monaco & Val Chmerkovskiy in jeopardy.

Former contestant Katherine Jenkins and Placido Domingo performed a beautiful ballad and then the last four duos learned their fate. Gilles Marini & Peta Murgatroyd made the cut and so did Melissa Rycroft & Tony Dovolani and Apolo Anton Ono & Karina Smirnoff. Helio Castroneves & Chelsie Hightower were said to be in jeopardy.

And then the shocker came; first that Monaco and Chmerkovskiy were safe leaving Castroneves and Fatone as the bottom two of the week. Then the elimination of the showman himself – Joey Fatone. Fatone, his first time around in season four came in second place and now he was voted off second! Amazing! It is clear we are going to lose some highly competent and brilliant performers early on. This is only the beginning.
