All-American night celebrates DANCING WITH THE STARS‘ 1,000th competitive dance and once again a very, very close race on the dance floor. Only five points separate the leaders – Hines Ward and Kym Johnson and the three last place couples – Kendra Wilkinson and Louis van Amstel, Petra Nemcova and Dmitry Chaplin and yes, shockingly, Ralph Macchio and Karina Smirnoff!

In Week 5 of Season 12, the couples danced in spirited USA attire and danced to some classic American hits, but, scores aside, now is the time we see who really has the fans’ votes. In a race this close they all need a following to keep them around. Anyone can go home any week with the numbers this close.

Chelsea Kane (Disney Channel Star) and her partner Mark Ballas
Tonight, at times, it seemed like I was watching a different show than the judges. Kane’s arms looked great but she was missing something in the middle … now what was it? Oh yeah, movement. Still, Len Goodman told her the dance was well done. Carrie Ann Inaba loved the way Ballas and her connected with the Rumba. Bruno Tonioli, in a rather randy mood all together, actually thought she was very clean in her technique.
Scores: Inaba – 9, Goodman – 8, Tonioli – 9, Harland – 7

Hines Ward (Football Star) and his partner Kym Johnson
Again, I saw a great deal of lacking in hip movement. The judges just saw something great. Tonioli thought Ward’s Rumba had the right amount of sensuality. Inaba said Ward makes dancing look so easy. Goodman thought it was his best dance yet.
Scores
: Inaba – 9, Goodman – 9, Tonioli – 9, Harland – 7

Petra Nemcova (Supermodel) and her partner Dmitry Chaplin
Ironically, I thought Nemcova did a better job than Ward and Kane but what do I know, I’m not a professional dancer or judge. However, I thought they were not as kind in critiquing her Quickstep than they should have been. Inaba thought Nemcova took a step back this week. Tonioli still praised Nemcova for being a golden goddess. Goodman thought she coped well throughout the dance, whatever that means.
Scores: Inaba – 7, Goodman –7, Tonioli – 8, Harland – 8

Romeo (rapper/actor) and his partner Chelsie Hightower
The dance was above and beyond him for sure and yet, he “coped” well I think. He did the best he could to portray a refined older gentleman in a hip hopper’s physique. Goodman let him know he was still apprehensive about Romeo’s dancing. Tonioli thought he definitely had swagger in the Foxtrot. Inaba said he looked cool.
Scores: Inaba – 9, Goodman – 8, Tonioli – 9, Harland –8

Kendra Wilkinson (Reality TV Star) and her partner Louis van Amstel
Well, she came out with great spirit this week. She gets an A for effort. Goodman applauded her improvements telling her this week’s Foxtrot was much better than last week’s dance. Tonioli pointed out that he could still see her thinking too much. Inaba commended her on looking very confident out on the dance floor…finally!
Scores: Inaba – 8, Goodman – 7, Tonioli – 7, Harland – 7

Ralph Macchio (Actor) and his partner Karina Smirnoff
Oh Ralphie Boy! You are in big trouble. I knew from the minute the dance started that it wasn’t going to go well. And well, let’s just say it wasn’t his best. The judges certainly told him that. Goodman gave it to him straight … you are not consistent! Tonioli begged Macchio for more sex, SEX… SEX!!! in his dancing! And Inaba thought his Samba was a great and entertaining achievement.
Scores: Inaba – 8, Goodman – 7, Tonioli – 7, Harland – 8

Chris Jericho (Wrestler) and his partner Cheryl Burke
Well, well, well, look who’s gunning for first. and never has Jericho looked so determined to get it. Tonioli thought Jericho’s Viennese Waltz was absolutely wonderful. Inaba seemed surprised to hear herself say, you are so good. Goodman proclaimed that Jericho would get an “8” when he deserved it … guess what? He deserved it!
Scores: Inaba – 9, Goodman – 8, Tonioli – 9, Harland – 8

Kirstie Alley (Actress) and her partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy
No mishaps tonight. No legs giving out. No shoes coming off. Just pure entertainment from Ms. Alley. Inaba thought Alley’s Foxtrot suited her well. Unfortunately, it was not Goodman’s cup of tea. Tonioli got randy with Alley stating how he didn’t know she was so dirty.
Scores: Inaba – 8, Goodman – 7, Tonioli – 8, Harland – 8

Who’s going home: Well, this is a tough call. It’s all about who has the fans’ vote. Right now it seems that Wilkinson has finally danced her last Waltz. However, she is tied for last place with Macchio and Nemcova. And Alley is only one point ahead of them.
Who Has Legs To Take Home The Mirror Ball: Hines Ward is quietly becoming a front runner on the show. Whether or not he has a big fan following is yet to be determined, but by no means is there a clear front runner. Stay tuned!
