Sheeee’ssss outta there! Nancy Grace is finally eliminated from DANCING WITH THE STARS: Season 13, week eight. It’s no secret how I felt her time had come many, many, many weeks earlier, but boy is it about time! Justice is served! Grace & partner Tristan Macmanus just escape making it to the semi-finals. Rob Kardashian & Cheryl Burke, J.R. Martinez & Karina Smirnoff, Hope Solo & Maks Chmerkovskiy and Ricki Lake & Derek Hough all made it to the semi finals next week. And rightly so. Although, I still feel like David Arquette & Kym Johnson should also be in the top four too, but that’s neither here nor there at this point. Anyway, the results show was packed and padded with ultra and diverse entertainment as the couples dwindle down.
The dance pro ladies opened the show up with I Am Woman – no, not the Helen Reddy version. And then, bam, we were told Martinez & Smirnoff were safe – no surprise there of course, they scored two perfect scores last night. Next safe, which was slightly surprising, was Solo & Chmerkovskiy. I can’t decide if it’s he who has the big fan base or her. Either way, they are in the top four. A hilarious Dance Center with Kenny Mayne, Jerry Rice and Len Goodman showed the trio comedically analyzing the couples, sometimes in a brutally jeering way but still all in fun.
We were treated to a beautiful performance by Andrea Bocelli along with Chris Botti and a Dance Troupe assist. Then, the most exciting Macy’s Stars of Dance in a long time – a sneak peak at the Michael Jackson: The Immortal World Tour show by Cirque Du Soleil. It is bittersweet to watch. It just reminds you of how talented this man was and how we will never again see him dance or sing. And yet, it seems like a fitting tribute.
Flo Rida took the stage to do some hip-hopping rap and then quickly we learned that Lake & Hough were joining Martinez & Smirnoff as well as Solo & Chmerkovskiy in the semi finals.
It came down to Kardashian and Grace left. Grace is out, placing a respectable fifth in the competition. Four couples left, two weeks to go. It’s almost over! The dancing train is coming into the station…Stay tuned!
