Voices: H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, Kristin Schaal Writer: Jon Schroeder Directors: Boohwan Lin & Kyoungee Lin Network: Fox, airs Sunday nights Original Telecast: March 12, 2012 Last year when BOB’S BURGERS premiered, I was very harsh in my critique. This was not a very funny show initially and it had a long way to go in order to find its voice (and stay on the air). I’m happy to report, the second season premiere “The Belchies” re-introduces a stronger, funnier and more interesting BOB’S BURGERS. It’s amazing what one season of experimentation and storylines can […]Read On »

It was great, we had all these […]Read On »

WonderCon 2011: Why BREAKING IN debuting in April a good thing

During the BREAKING IN press event at WonderCon 2011 in San Francisco, executive producer  Doug Robinson thinks that debuting the series in April is actually a positive rather than a negative. “I think it is a huge advantage, especially when you have AMERICAN IDOL as a lead-in,” Robinson says about the series which focuses on a high-tech security firm of misfits. “You know that at least you are going to get a lot of people that aren’t going to watch anything at 9:30 p.m. because the families are done watching TV. I would take seven episodes to watch a show […]Read On »

Profile: Five Questions with THE GOONIES co-stars Ke Huy Quan and Jeff Cohen

© 1985 Warner Bros. | Ke Huy Quan and Jeff Cohen in THE GOONIES

COHEN: I think if you look at all of Dick Donner’s movies, it’s verisimilitude, which is “the truth.” That’s his thing. It’s written on the wall in his office. With Donner’s movies, whether it’s SUPERMAN or GOONIES or OMEN, you have a fantastic situation of people behaving how you would behave if you got this crazy treasure map or this guy could fly or maybe the kid is the son of Satan. So I owe it to Donner for letting us curse, like kids curse. To let us develop our relationships amongst each other as kids. HUAN: I don’t remember […]Read On »

Profile: FIVE QUESTIONS WITH ‘THE GOONIES’ STAR COREY FELDMAN

It’s hard to believe that THE GOONIES is celebrating its 25th Anniversary (it has a brand-new Blu-ray set to prove it), so it was about  time ASSIGNMENT X caught up with actor Corey Feldman to talk about his memories playing the opinionated Mouth in that now classic 1985 film. The story was a pint-sized version of the INDIANA JONES saga (albeit with more juvenile humor), as a group of kids find a treasure map and go on an adventure in the bowels of their own home town. Feldman has fond memories of the experience and we got him to Take […]Read On »

AXclusive Interview: IT’S 25 YEARS LATER AND DIRECTOR RICHARD DONNER LOOKS BACK ON ‘THE GOONIES’

With so many hours of excellent television (THE TWILIGHT ZONE) and classic films under his belt (SUPERMAN, THE OMEN, the LETHAL WEAPON franchise), the problem with speaking to director Richard Donner is figuring out where to actually start. Luckily, that part was taken care of for us since he recently did some press in honor of the 25th Anniversary of his classic adventure/kids film THE GOONIES which just hit Blu-ray in a brand-new deluxe edition. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Chris Columbus, THE GOONIES is one of those perfect 1980s confections filled with great performances by a […]Read On »
