ARROW is the new CW top rated series and stars Stephen Amell in the starring role of Oliver Queen/Arrow. If you watched SMALLVILLE you probably were a fan of Justin Hartley’s role as the Green Arrow/Oliver Queen and at first you may find it a bit strange to see Amell in the same role, but that won’t last long. In the D.C. comic book Green Arrow had bright blonde hair with a blond goatee, and wore a small mask to hide his identity. In the television show Arrow wears only a green hood, large enough to hide his face in […]Read On »

Mike Farrell and Misha Collins in SUPERNATURAL - Season 8 - "Hunteri Heroici" | ©2012 The CW/Jack Rowand

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Mike Farrell, Liane Balaban, Amanda Tapping, Catherine Lough Haggquist, Greg Webb, Brian Markinson Writer: Andrew Dabb, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Paul Edwards Network: The CW, Wednesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: November 28, 2012 SUPERNATURAL has had its cartoonish moments before, but in “Hunteri Heroici,” it goes for the vibe deliberately and literally, with Acme anvils and Road Runner-style painted escape tunnels. This yields some worthy laughs, but not as many as we might expect. We also finally get an explanation for how it is that Sam (Jared Padalecki) is no […]Read On »

Smith Director: Wendy Stanzler      Network: The CW, airs Thursday nights Original Telecast: Nov 15, 2012 At least in THE VAMPIRE DIARIES “We All Go a Little Mad Sometimes” we find out that Elena (Nina Dobrev) isn’t really just losing her mind after taking her first human life. TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 8 – “A Little Slice of Kevin”

Jensen Ackles and Misha Collins in SUPERNATURAL - Season 8 - "A Little Slice of Kevin" | ©2012 The CW/Liane Hentscher

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, DJ Qualls, Liane Balaban Writer: Eugenie Ross-Leming & Brad Buckne, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Charles Robert Carner Network: The CW, Wednesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: November 14, 2012 Castiel (Misha Collins) is back on SUPERNATURAL. Naturally, instead of rejoicing, Dean (Jensen Ackles) is filled with suspicion – how the hell did Cass get out of Purgatory? – and guilt, because Dean didn’t get Cass out of Purgatory himself. This happens in the midst of Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean trying to track down the connection between seven people who have vanished in […]Read On »

TV Review: ARROW – Season 1 – “Legacies”

Stars:  Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, Paul Blackthorne, Colin Donnell, Susanna Thompson, Colin Salmon, Willa Holland Writers: Moira Kirkland & Marc Guggenheim Director: John Behring Network: The CW, airs Wednesday Nights Original Telecast: November 14, 2012 This week’s episode of ARROW, “Legacies,” has its moments, but mostly I experienced it as a missed opportunity.  After making some headway last week by revealing more of Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell’s) experiences as a left-for-dead castaway on the mysterious island, as well as illuminating more of the criminal conspiracy that surrounds Oliver’s mother Moira (Susanna Thompson), ARROW decided to leave both of those storylines […]Read On »

TV Review: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES – Season 4 – “The Killer”

Candice Accola in THE VAMPIRE DIARIES - Season 4 - "The Killer" | ©2012 The CW/Bob Mahoney

Stars: Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley, Ian Somerhalder Writer: Michael Narducci, Based on the books by L.J. Smith Director: Chris Grismer      Network: The CW, airs Thursday nights Original Telecast: Nov 1, 2012 You might think that the title of the latest episode of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, “The Killer” would be a nod to Mystic Falls’ resident vampire hunter Connor Jordan (Todd Williams), but I really feel that it is referring to the killer inside of Elena (Nina Dobrev) that breaks the surface in this episode and shows us all just how close to coming apart she really is. I love […]Read On »

TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 8 – “Southern Comfort”

Nathan Dashwood in SUPERNATURAL - Season 8 - "Southern Comfort" | ©2012 The CW/Diyah Pera

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, DJ Qualls, Liane Balaban Writer: Adam Glass, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Tim Andrew Network: The CW, Wednesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: November 7, 2012 Garth, played by DJ Qualls, is one of SUPERNATURAL’s better recurring characters. He’s true to his own wavelength, he’s a hugger, he’s funny and he brightens up an episode. However, it’s pushing it, as “Southern Comfort” does, to insist that he’s the new Bobby, primarily because there was no good reason to get rid of the original Bobby. It was said in interviews that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and […]Read On »
