Now Pellegrino is a series regular on the CW’s new series THE TOMORROW PEOPLE. The title characters are people, largely adolescents, who have abilities that mark them as the next step in human evolution. Sheppard, Felicia Day, Guildhart Jackson, Tiio Horn, Maya Massar Writer: Robbie Thompson, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Robert Singer Network: The CW, Tuesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: October 29, 2013 Instead of going for either terror or utterly bizarre (two of the more expected choices), this year’s SUPERNATURAL Halloween episode “Slumber Party” decides to open the door, literally, to Oz. In a black-and-white prologue set in 1935, Hunter Dorothy (Tiio West) brings in a captured witch (Maya Massar) to the Men of Letters headquarters. TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 9 – “I’m No Angel”

Misha Collins in SUPERNATURAL - Season 9 - "I'm No Angel" | ©2013 The CW/Diyah Pera

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Adam J. Harrington, Shannon Lucio, Kevin Brief Writers: Brad Buckner & Eugenie Ross-Leming, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Kevin Hooks Network: The CW, Tuesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: October 22, 2013 With Misha Collins’ desanctified angel Castiel now human, it makes sense that SUPERNATURAL devotes a good portion of an episode to the character coming to terms with his new condition. In “I’m No Angel,” Cass deals with homelessness, hunger, getting an anti-angel warding tattoo (so the other angels can’t track him) – and, oh yeah, sex. Unfortunately for Cass, his …Read On »

Osric Chau as Kevin and Mark Sheppard as Crowley in SUPERNATURAL | (c) 2013 Liane Hentscher/The CW

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Mark A. Sheppard, Osric Chau, Alaina Huffman, Jesse Hutch, Paul Rae, Olivia Ryan Stern Writer: Andrew Dabb, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Guy Norman Bee Network: The CW, Tuesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: October 15, 2013 One big takeaway from the SUPERNATURAL episode “Devil May Care” is that young Prophet of the Lord Kevin Tran (Osric Chau) is officially considered family by Dean (Jensen Ackles), along with the not-in-this-ep Castiel (Misha Collins) and of course Sam (Jared Padalecki). The other notable element here is that Padalecki, playing Sam as possessed by the angel …Read On »

The Originals Cast - Charles Michael Davis, Claire Holt, Joseph Morgan, Leah Pipes, Danielle Campbell and Phoebe Tonkin at the CBS/CW/Showtime Summer 2013 Television Critics Party | ©2013 Sue Schneider

On July 29th a big party was held by CBS/The CW/Showtime for the Television Critics Annual Summer Press Tour at The Event, which is actually the upper parking lot where the department store Robinson’s/May in Beverly Hills used to be. Taking pictures before heading inside it was quite a turnout of stars from the three networks of their new shows and returning shows of the three networks CBS, The CW and Showtime. I probably missed a few as I went in as soon as the cast from the CW new show THE ORIGINALS, a spin-off from THE VAMPIRE DAIRIES walked …Read On »

Exclusive Interview: Creator Eric Kripke on REVOLUTION Season 1 and SUPERNATURAL

Rachel (Elizabeth Mitchell) kills a Monroe guard on REVOLUTION "Clue" | (c) 2013 Brownie Harris/NBC

NBC’s REVOLUTION, which has its first-season finale tonight, Monday June 3 at 10 PM, has been picked up for a second season. This should offer fans some relief, since right now on the show, the Earth is in danger of catching fire altogether. In REVOLUTION, created by Eric Kripke (who also birthed SUPERNATURAL), under the auspices of Kripke’s fellow executive producer J.J. Abrams, there was a planet-wide blackout fifteen years earlier and electricity has not returned to the masses since. Power-hungry militia leader Monroe (David Lyons) has gotten his hands on some functioning helicopter gun ships. One ofMonroe’s adversaries, Rachel …Read On »

TV Review: SUPERNATURAL – Season 8 – “Sacrifice” – SEASON FINALE

THE CW logo | ©The CW

Stars: Jared Padalecki, Jensen Ackles, Misha Collins, Mark A. Sheppard, Osric Chau, Kim Rhodes, Amanda Tapping, Curtis Armstrong, Alaina Huffman Writer: Jeremy Carver, series created by Eric Kripke Director: Phil Sgriccia Network: The CW, Wednesdays @ 9 PM Original Airdate: May 15, 2013 A lot happens in SUPERNATURAL’s Season 8 closer “Sacrifice.” Probably the best and most satisfying thing that occurs is, for once, Dean (Jensen Ackles) and Sam (Jared Padalecki) put each other ahead of the quest. There is also the near-humanization of Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard), some intriguing reversals and an Aziz Ansari shout-out. On the other hand, …Read On »
