Season 5 of JUSTIFIED, on FX Tuesdays at 10 PM, has been up and down for Nick Searcy’s character, Chief Deputy U.S. Marshal Art Mullen of Harlan County, Kentucky. In the win column, Art has not only faced off against a scary mob enforcer but actually fought alongside heroic Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) in bringing the bad guy down in a gunfight; Art has also impressed his superiors by orchestrating the capture of a long-on-the-run, big-time gangster. On the less happy side, Art is so angry at some of Raylan’s less-than-legal actions that the Chief Deputy has […]Read On »

In FX’s JUSTIFIED, now in its third season Tuesday nights at 10 PM and already renewed for a fourth, a lot of the residents of Harlan County, Kentucky seem to act like laws unto themselves. This is often true of protagonist U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, played by Timothy Olyphant, as well as a lot of his adversaries in the series, based on writer Elmore Leonard’s story “Fire in the Hole.” It is always true of the character Ellstin Limehouse, played by Mykelti (pronounced Michael T) Williamson. On JUSTIFIED, FX’s hit series now in its third season Tuesdays at 10 PM, a lot of the characters are passionate, strong-willed rule breakers. This is obviously true of the hero, U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, played by Timothy Olyphant, and his onetime childhood friend and now sometime ally/sometime adversary, the outlaw Boyd Crowder, played by Walton Goggins. However, Joelle Carter’s character Ava Crowder can and does give both men a run for their money in the gritty determination department. Ava shot and killed her abusive husband Bowman, who was Boyd’s brother. She then hooked up with Raylan for awhile, but […]Read On »

On FX’s award-winning hit JUSTIFIED, now in its third season Tuesday nights at 10 PM, Timothy Olyphant’s character U.S. Deputy Marshal Raylan Givens often exercises his own judgment on how matters of the law should be handled. However, even if Raylan doesn’t always listen to the man, he has healthy respect for his boss, Chief Deputy Art Mullen, played by Nick Searcy. Searcy has played his share of bosses and law enforcement characters over the years – he was a deputy in his series regular role on AMERICAN GOTHIC and was a U.S. marshal in an episode of LINE OF […]Read On »

Margo Martindale in JUSTIFIED - Season 2 - "For Blood or Money" | ©2011 FX/Prashant Gupta

FX’s hit series JUSTIFIED (Wednesdays at 10 PM) is now in its second season and already renewed for a third. In the show developed by Graham Yost from the writings of Elmore Leonard, U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) has come across all sorts of lawbreakers, especially now that he’s returned to his native Kentucky. However, it’s a safe bet he’s never before tangled with anyone quite like Margo Martindale’s Mags Bennett, the folksy, ruthless criminal matriarch who someone described as a cross between Tony Soprano and Paula Deen. Martindale, who hails from Galveston, Texas, has had a lot of […]Read On »
