In Fox’s miniseries WAYWARD PINES, Thursdays at 9 PM, Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) is understandably upset. Not only is he trapped in the title town, where people are executed over transgressions like referring to their lives pre-arrival, but he finds his partner/ex-lover Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino) claiming she’s lived here for twelve years, even though she’s only been missing a few weeks. Morever, Kate says she’s been married for years to local toymaker Harold Balinger, played by Reed Diamond. Native New Yorker Diamond is no stranger to television or to genre. On FX’s JUSTIFIED, which has its fourth-season finale Tuesday at 10 PM, Timothy Olyphant’s Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens gets to do most of the flashy stuff – shooting people, romancing women, trying to outsmart his old frenemy and current Harlan County crime boss Boyd Crowder (Walton Goggins). Searcy’s IMDB page lists 95 film and TV acting credits, including some big projects like MONEYBALL and THE FUGITIVE, plus PARADISE FALLS, the 1997 feature Searcy wrote and directed. Searcy has played his share of bosses and law enforcement characters over the years – he was a deputy in his series regular role on AMERICAN GOTHIC and was a U.S. marshal in an episode of LINE OF […]Read On »

Stars: Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright Writers: Steven Zaillian and Aaron Sorkin, story by Stan Chervin, based on the book by Michael Lewis Director: Bennett Miller Distributor: Columbia Pictures Release Date: September 23, 2011 To describe MONEYBALL accurately is to run the risk of making it sound like a number of things that it is not – dry, insular, too cerebral for the masses. Baseball is MONEYBALL’s universe, but the film actually makes the topic so universal that even people who […]Read On »
