Movie Review: TAKEN 2

TAKEN 2 movie poster | ©2012 20th Century Fox

Rating: PG-13 Stars: Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace, Famke Janssen, Rade Sherbedgia Writers: Luc Besson & Robert Mark Kamen Director: Olivier Megaton Distributor: Twentieth Century Fox Release Date: October 5, 2012 It’s hard to figure out how to rate TAKEN 2. The sequel to 2008’s TAKEN, TAKEN 2 brings back ex-Black Ops agent Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson), still worrying about his teenaged daughter Kim (Maggie Grace) and her mom/Bryan’s ex Lenore (Famke Janssen). Gadson Writers: Erich Hoeber & Jon Hoeber, based on the Hasbro game Director: Peter Berg Distributor: Universal Pictures Release Date: May 18, 2012 There is nothing wrong in basing a movie on a board game or a toy, or even an amusement park ride (for example, PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN). Interview: WRATH OF THE TITANS composer Javier Navarrete fights for gods and men

WRATH OF THE TITANS soundtrack | ©2012 Water Tower Records

In WRATH OF THE TITANS, a menagerie of ancient beasts and angry gods are unleashed upon the world of men, all due to the declining prayers directed at Zeus and his brethren on Mount Olympus. However, Hollywood’s cinematic worship towards ancient Greece’s supreme being, let alone legendary deities in general, is more than boisterous given the current films inspired by the mythic clashes of old. Not only are these pictures a boon for today’s CGI effects wizards to indulge in their Ray Harryhausen-inspired love of stop-motion giant monsters, but they’re equally heaven-sent for composers to unleash the own musically epic …Read On »

Release Date: March 30, 2012 WRATH OF THE TITANS is actually more or less okay, but there are a number of elements that offer themselves up for nitpicking criticism at the outset.
