After the success of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES, it was a given that the CW would explore other series possibilities adapted from the books by L. J. Smith. Now THE SECRET CIRCLE, about a coven of witches in New Salem starring Brittany Robertson as Cassie who moves into town to live with her mother. THE VAMPIRE DIARIES heads into the third season this fall with a bit of a role reversal as our hero Stefan (Paul Wesley) hits a little bit of a dark path, and is on the road while his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is left at home to protect Elena (Nina Dobrev) from all the bad things that comes her way. The CW just announced its Fall 2011 schedule (CLICK HERE) and making the cut is THE SECRET CIRCLE from THE VAMPIRE DIARIES executive producer Kevin Williamson. Based on the book series by L.J. Smith (who also created DIARIES), the series follows a normal teenage girl (Brittany Robertson) whose mother dies and she soon finds out the truth that she’s descended from a powerful line of witches.
