Paramount’s Insurge Pictures turned Hollywood Boulevard into a concert arena for the Los Angeles Premiere of KATY PERRY: PART OF ME. With a stage built in the middle of the street and the bright pink carpet for Katy Perry and the guests to walk down first before the concert, which was located at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre. On top of that over 5,000 screaming fans lined the street to hear the concert, and in the Hollywood/Highland complex fans stood on tables and looked out onto the street. 10 FAVORITE ALBUMS (in alphabetical order) Daft Punk – TRON: LEGACY soundtrack There were some great soundtracks this year, but damn, these techno boys created the best John Carpenter/Alan Howarth score that the never wrote. The movie may be polarizing, but this soundtrack will make you appreciate being a user. Frightened Rabbit – THE WINTER OF MIXED DRINKS A wonderful, alternative rock find. Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Films held the Los Angeles Premiere of THE TEMPEST at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on December 6th. Across the street at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater was the premiere of Paramount’s THE FIGHTER, so needless to say Hollywood was very busy and the street was closed from Highland to Orange for this special night. This was not the first time that two premieres were held almost at the same time, but it was timed so that after I finished shooting THE TEMPEST, I was able to go over and cover THE FIGHTER.
