The carpet ran down Hollywood Boulevard to the entrance of the Hollywood/Highland Complex and up to the entrance of the Dolby, which was lined with fans, as a matter of fact fans were everywhere on the street and the lucky ones got to be right on the carpet to see the stars up close. Smoke before the actually premiere started came down the carpet, which I guess was suppose to be fog! Thankfully […]Read On »

CSI: CYBER is the fourth iteration of the phenomenally successful CBS franchise, co-created by Anthony Zuiker, an executive producer on the quartet under the auspices of fellow executive producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Debuting on Wednesday, March 4 at 10 PM, CSI: CYBER differs from other CSI series in several ways. First, it deals with crimes committed via the Internet, showing scary but fact-based matters like how an in-home baby cam can facilitate a kidnapping. Second, CYBER will delve into the personalities and personal lives of its FBI team from the outset. Last but not least, CSI: CYBER stars Patricia Arquette – […]Read On »

CD Review: DAYS OF THUNDER Soundtrack (Limited 3,000 Edition)

DAYS OF THUNDER soundtrack | ©2013 La La Land Records

For his first story credit, Tom Cruise had the nifty idea of placing his TOP GUN team into the rock-fueled world of NASCAR, from pedal-to-the-metal mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer to director Tony Scott. But even if composer Harold Faltermeyer was missing from the below-the-line pit crew, his energetic Krautrock level of synth-groove propulsion would be more than juiced up by another German-to-Hollywood action émigré named Hans Zimmer. Having recently gone from the English arthouse likes of DARK OBSESSION and PAPERHOUSE to LA’s go-to African guy with A WORLD APART and the Cruise-starring RAIN MAN, Zimmer was now making a fast break […]Read On »

On July 29th a big party was held by CBS/The CW/Showtime for the Television Critics Annual Summer Press Tour at The Event, which is actually the upper parking lot where the department store Robinson’s/May in Beverly Hills used to be. Taking pictures before heading inside it was quite a turnout of stars from the three networks of their new shows and returning shows of the three networks CBS, The CW and Showtime. I probably missed a few as I went in as soon as the cast from the CW new show THE ORIGINALS, a spin-off from THE VAMPIRE DAIRIES walked […]Read On »

Exclusive Interview: GAME CHANGE writer Danny Strong on Sarah Palin, politics and more

On the set of GAME CHANGE with screenwriter Danny Strong | ©2012 HBO

GAME CHANGE is an apt title for what happened in the 2008 election when John McCain, the Republican nominee for President of the United States of America, selected then-Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin as his running mate. Even people who see eye to eye on nothing else can agree that what followed was not quite like anything else that had ever happened on the national stage. The book GAME CHANGE by Time Magazine editor-in-chief Mark Halperin and political journalist John Heilemann encompasses the entire 2008 election, including the Democratic contest between then-Senators Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. The HBO film […]Read On »
