TRANSPARENT MUSICALE FINALE | ©2019 Amazon

TRANSPARENT, the Amazon Prime series, has arguably been through nearly as many shakeups as its characters. Jill Soloway, who identifies as non-binary, created TRANSPARENT as a comedy/drama about how the Pfefferman family of Los Angeles, with grown children, responds when their father Mort comes out as transgender and will now be Maura. Soloway drew inspiration for the story from her own parent’s transition. TRANSPARENT won two Emmys and a Golden Globe for Jeffrey Tambor’s performance as Maura, as well as a Golden Globe for Best Comedy or Musical and two Emmys for Soloway’s direction of individual episodes, plus a truckload […]Read On »

Simmons, Jon Bernthal, Jeffrey Tambor, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, John Lithgow, Jean Smart Writer: Bill Dubuque Director: Gavin O’Connor Distributor: Warner Bros. Release Date: October 14, 2016 The intentions behind THE ACCOUNTANT are broadly good. The filmmakers want to show the audience that people on the autism spectrum can be just as capable, if not more so, than neuro-typical (non-autistic) folks. There are certainly plenty of examples of autistic people who are extraordinarily gifted in fields like math and music. Rather than giving us another “very special” drama, director Gavin O’Connor, writer Bill Dubuque […]Read On »

BENT - Season 1 poster art | ©2012 NBC

Stars: Amanda Peet, David Walton, Margo Harshman, Joey King, Jeffrey Tambor  Writer:  Tad Quill Director: Craig Zisk Network: NBC, airs Wednesday nights Original Telecast: March 22, 2012 As much trouble as NBC has been in this season with ratings, the quality of its programs have actually been quite interesting – even when they do seriously fail in nabbing viewers. And while we’ve had to suffer through the abysmal WHITNEY and ARE YOU THERE CHELSEA?, they also hit a double with UP ALL NIGHT and I would even say a triple with the surprisingly well done quirky comedy BENT. If you […]Read On »

20th Century Fox held the Los Angeles Premiere of MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS on June 12th, at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood. Along with a “white” carpet with MR. POPPER’S PENGUINS written on it, there was loads of cotton to make it look like snow drifts and snow blowing (actually it was soap suds) as the stars walked down the carpet at the start of the premiere. They had built a pen by the doors of the theatre to house the Penguins, who actually walked the whole length of the carpet. This live-action comedy stars Jim Carrey, who chilly relationship […]Read On »

Exclusive Photos from the world premiere of Disney’s TANGLED

Zachary Levi and Mandy Moore at the World Premiere of TANGLED

Rapunzel let down her hair, finally (and in 3-D) as Disney held the World Premiere of their new animated film TANGLED at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, California. It was a long backdrop that was painted to look like Rapunzel’s hair. Wigs were handed out to some of the photographers, myself included and we wore them while shooting. Mandy Moore  (Rapunzel) and Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider) posed with us as the photographers on the carpet shot our photos. It was fun, except that the long wig kept catching on everything! Walking the carpet were the stars of the film, […]Read On »
